  1. The last lot i bought was £45 per tonne delivered in, that was off a chap on here.

Used them for the first time this year, but i went into all the local pubs and shops with them (to advertise logs) rather than post them, i had a good return, was once told by a sales man that fliers get a one percent return, don't know if thats right or wrong.
  3. As anyone got a second hand splitter for sale ? i've got access to some big rings that won't go through the processor, so i'm on the look out for a petrol log splitter.
  4. It's disappeared into the arbtalk abyss
  5. Yes Dave, we could of gone down that road but the missus wouldn'nt have it, so it's in the hands of the solicitors, but getting blood out of stones dont happen, so we'll start again, what pisses me off is i try and help people out, passing on contacts and the like, because i'm a great believer in what goes round comes round. I said something on here, off the cuff to farmer ben the other night about "learning to walk before you run, when i read it back i didn't like how it came across but what i ment was watch you dont get caught with your pants down,so to speak.
  6. Your not wrong there Dave, i took some good orders in the last few weeks:thumbup:, but alot of my summer work is in drianage and i took a big "knock" off a, effing builder who went bankrupt owing me a small fortune:thumbdown: in the spring (which the missus keeps telling me as turned me bitter and twisted) role on the cold weather:thumbup:
  7. Yes, of course you can get the harvest over first, but you asked the question, steve gave you the answer, it seems like you want to be a jack of all trades, but don't have the time to do it. Me thinks you should learn to walk before you run:biggrin: And i don't mean that in a nasty way.
  8. Steve, i wasn't knocking your price or your product, what i've done is speak to the local shop owners and they want 100% mark up, i'm just trying to guage what is a reasonable price to ask for wholesale nets, from what ben as said he's selling to shops that are happy to make about a 33% mark up.
  9. I wouldn't be making a quid on a net at £1.60. You are more than welcome to drop over and have a look at my set up, not much to see though, a small fordson, hakki pilke eagle and a rented barn that i can't use at the moment as there are a pair of barn owl chicks in there, and the dedham wild life trust are monitoring. I spoke to the people from dedham and they told me that they think they will be gone in the next few days......fingers crossed.
  10. I know what steve charges, i pm'd him last week, if you are selling for a quid extra what price are the farm shops knocking them out for ? By the way the nets i'm looking at aren't the ones in the link.
  11. Your right Ben, you would also have to try hard to get better than hullsmillfarm on here, but i'm looking at buying in bulk and then selling on again wholesale and with both that have been mentioned there wouldn't be any profit in it.
  12. No he comes from the north part of east anglia, he tells me that all the wood is untreated and kiln dried, we'll see when the sample nets come. I'm not mug enough to take rubbish, so IF i go ahead with this i will go and collect the first few loads to make sure the nets are the same as the sample nets.
  13. What are your nets retailing for ? i don't have to buy all the nets, thats just what the chap i've been talking to tells be he has in stock all the time, he told me that he runs three kindlets!!!
  14. We'll have to put it down to the north/south divide then:lol: Thanks for your replys.
  15. Do you know what they weigh, roughly ?
  16. What do you charge and for what size nets ?
  17. What you say is correct about utillities companies providing plans of their assets the problem is they don't have plans of private supplys, ie after the water meter/stop tap is private (owned by the property) so your water company won't have any idea of were the supply goes from the meter/stop tap to the property, the same with drains they will have plans of the public sewer but no plans for private drains which the home owner is responsibe, upto and including the connection on to the public sewer (even if the public sewer is in the middle of the road), although domestic drains are about to become the responsibility of your local water company.
  18. I'm just testing the water at the moment, i "MAY" be able to get hold of kiln dried kindling to sell wholesale, the nets are approx 4kg, they would be priced at £1.60 per net on orders of 100 nets or more, colleceted. I'm waiting for the samples to arrive. there are up to 10,000 nets available. Your thoughts please.
  19. What size are your bags/nets and how many logs are in them ?
  20. I have a mate in Bury-st-Edmunds who might be intrested, could you pm me a contact number.
  21. Ben, did you speak to clive?
  22. No dealings, but i have had emails from Latvia offering wholesale firewood, just pressed delete.
