  1. Ahh the fuel solenoid. Im still yet to replace it on my late 2016 201tcm that kept cutting out on idle! Should have been done under warrenty but hey ho. When it went in early this year dealer had it for 6 week and still came back the same. Cant be doing with downtime on a saw like that. Left it sat at bottom of saw box for the last 6-8 months as cant be bothered with it! Using my pre mtronic 201’s and no issues here
  2. Surely its the chicken and egg situation? how did they dry the wood for the kiln without it being kiln dried?
  3. Blown tyre up, drive down. Have brew whilst they do it didnt get hands dirty at all
  4. I dont have facilities to do things like this. Easier to take it in for a puncture repair like i did for 30 ish quid im not wrestling them tyres and dont have a big enough conpressor to blow them back up
  5. Oko? Whats that? when had tyres fitted they wouldnt take as tubeless to the rims.... old tyres were tubed and water ballast. They cut my old tubes the sods to get water out of them!!!! It was only a day or so later when the tubeless fitted tyres were flat as a fart! They had to go back and i had to pay for 2 new tubes have thought about ditching those pavt wheels for some std or solid wheels. Would hope tubeless then
  6. Tubed
  7. Not broke but pissed off all the same lol
  8. Id have radiator out and clean / run a hose pipe through both ends for starters till it runs clear
  9. Cheers for that Eddie that would be my main concern cash flow
  10. Thing is though that vat on yard fuel and other normal bits and pieces pcm add up to not much at all to offset the vat. granted you can claim back vat on capital assets up to 4 years so for example 10k etc but you cant use that to offset and lower your base rate. Costs are costs. Claiming the vat back on purchases 4yrs is only a bonus. flat rate doesnt seem appealing either
  11. They looked to reduce it to 47k i think it was in last budget but it was thrown out
  12. Very worrying this is. So what are tree surgeons etcsupposed to then do with their un split unnseasoned logs at yards? There would be tonnes and tonnes mounting up! Sell it to people who chip it for biomass? everything seems to go the wrong way in this country
  13. Just looking to find info on how vat registered companies get on in the domestic sector of work when pricing against non vat registered companies? Especially when cash flow is critical for wages for employees. You need to win as much work as possible but your now 20% dearer. Considering all jobs have a ceiling price.... non vat registered man prices 480.00 and vat reg man prices 400.00 plus vat. Sounds more like non vat registered man is on a better deal to me. Unless your continually buying things and considering fuel reciepts with vat at 10-15.00 a time then surely your always paying out a good proportion of the vat you have to charge? And cash flow is less as the vat isnt yours its the vat mans! Non vat reg man has 480.00 to play with and vat reg man has 400.00. do vat registered companies still do the smaller little hedge jobs and smaller trees etc? Or has business out grown these due to bigger overheads and inc vat puts you out of being competitive? hope not too intrusive of a question!
  14. I patched mine a few years back.... but wasn't just right. Fitted a full length piece of steel to mine now that's thicker! Mind you the old girls done 2600 - 2700 hrs
  15. This is a problem with the older jensens mick.... it will eventually wear through and need cutting out and patching or a fresh length of metal welding to that side of the chute. can effect throw of chip also
  16. What meter is that please woodworks?
  17. Interesting more loops to jump through and some more arseholes want a chunk of what we earn. Great
  18. Ha no dont call me lol. Im not one for an 880 up a tree but thought i’d best include it as an example! Otherwise some macho person be along saying about they use an 880 up a tree and a 660 is light as a feather haha lol id go for it. My next 70cc and 90cc will have them
  19. I run a 550xpg as a small day to day domestic saw. Had my heated handles on a few times when ringing up etc any time of the year. All my saws will most likely be heated handles from now on. 2-2.5yrs in they still work.... take a little while to warm up mind im looking after my hands if possible. Couldnt give a monkeys about extra weight on a harness. Only need to be thinking about that if you have to take 660 or god forbid 880 up a tree!
  20. Nice machine that.... for a bigger one we use this but i think its due to be changed soon...
  21. Manitou mate nice machine does it have the load sensor on the arm ours was forever beeping so got the claas for more muscle Yes it was beeping a good bit! Only hired in for the day and to be honest it was peanuts for the day so was really glad we had it!
  22. Yup same here Arbormonkey. Skid steers bo good to me. Amazing lift power on these little teleporters
  23. Love that splitter! Take it its a posch? What model and approx money to buy? Why did you change from the deutz? Farm im on love their deutz
  24. Sounds like good warrenty back up there. Better than my manufacturer dealer who’s favourite saying is “ not sure if it will be covered under warrenty or not” my machines only 18mth old haha
  25. On the flip side, you pull over let people past which i do.... then you pull back out and more people come.... everyones going to work even the tractor driver. Ever heard of..... Number 2 forms the que? Inadequacy to overtake with most people is the issue here. most tractors will run right at the verge round here on national speed limit roads plenty of room to overtake
