  1. Just wondering where people buy their proper stump grinder guards from? They all seem stupid brass for what they are. Think they come as 3 screens as a setup? Would want to get 6 screens all together so 2 sets. Sick of crap flying for miles! We currently use some hinged plywood and may just have to make some more up if can't find some right ones for reasonable money. Many thanks
  2. Wonder if these be any good for breaking down over sized stems cut to 1m lengths? Like 3-4' diameter pieces to be broken down for the processor?
  3. AHH but it's the brush and shovel and shifting shit that wears you down you know lol
  4. I'm a lot younger than you Mick and even I'm tired just thinking about it. Surprises me how many of the lads on here want the blast through every job 100mph. Not sustainable
  5. I'd be on a tw190 or a Jensen a540. Would t have another tw230. Least with a 190 it's easy to refurb chip chamber. The bottom of chip chamber on a Jensen is HYD tank which the metal wears and you can get HYD oil in chip chamber at high hours 2000 plus I've seen both with big hours on though. Jensen feed rollers be bigger diameter opening I think whereas the tw190 is square. I was on a site a few years back and working with my Jensen a530 and another team with a tw190 and us and the Jensen out performed the other team all day
  6. I still run an fs400.... It's a 1999 model! Can site for 6 months and still fire on first pull. Bloody good they are. New stuff not sure. But if I wanted another strimmer it'd be a second hand fs400 off ebay
  7. Powers that be.... Please elaborate Bob cheers
  8. Can't find my pics on my phone... I went all out this last time on my new truck. Built a steel frame (basically a lean too up against the headboard) had this galvanized. Ordered all my stuff from service metals, alloy planking, alloy Chanel some sheet of alloy. A firm next door to service metals I think it was supplied roller shutter doors for me. Probs spent 2500 ISH. Money well spent!
  9. Not sure but I recently changed mine in last 6 months or so... Think the little pulley was like 40 quid ISH off Vermeer and the big bugger on the cutter wheel was 90. Not as dear as I expected to be honest so just got from Vermeer. They are just a pulley and I'm sure a normal.place could get them but for convenience and the price I just went Vermeer. Very good service too!
  10. I use pffanner nowadays. Gone through all sorts of pants over the years. Burnt holes in them, split the crotches regular and ripped to shreds. Last couple of pairs of pants were breathflex. Utter shite. Heavy pants and which idiot decided to put the belt loops like 4" away from the buttons etc? All that happens is the pants sag and sawdust just goes down your crotch and legs.... Have 2 pairs here I haven't worn out yet but hate them that much I replaced them! Might be a lot more.brass but proper fitting pants! Pffanner gladiator all the way!
  11. Good stuff! Thank you. Will have a read in my spare time!
  12. Beast of a beetle at the front of my garage this morning! It was on its back and couldn't get back upright. Suspect it tried creating up garage door and fell over. Helped him up and bobbed him in the garden. Huge compared to usual beetles 12mm wide and maybe 22mm long approx
  13. Can you get ones for the 1.5t digger range? Possible something 4-6"
  14. I'd also be interested in some light reading on the subject too. Cheers
  15. Ouch... Is it actually financially viable to keep throwing brass down the toilet like that? I was looking at predators due to spec but first thing I would do is bin that wheel and have one made up for green teeth or yellow jackets.... You may kick yourself you didn't do it ages ago due to costs of the teeth over time
  16. How much are the multi tip teeth nowadays? They used to be 11.50-12.50 each? That was a good few years ago though
  17. I'd want as much hp as I could get without going up to too big of a tractor. 100hp straight 6 wasn't enough for me round here. Had to turbo it to make it workable. My old case 856xl 4cyl turbo was a flyer though would run rings round the 6 pot non turbo on the road. Plenty of hills round my way. For me it would be new Holland 8340, ts115 or mf 6180 minimum... Depends how new you want to go. But you'd want 15-20k for one of the above
  18. Who you banking with? Cheers
  19. Hmmm I've had nowt of HSBC yet...
  20. Limited market I would say. Be a fortune Would deffo not have one with a scissor ram setup.
  21. Do you not think nostalgia plays a part with these older tractors though.... Surely there's some good better (newer) tractors out there that will.make life easier on site etc. Should we be afraid of all these electrics and fancy transmissions? (I say yes but I await to hear what you.lot say lol )
  22. Yes but interest free for 12months and then 2.5% after.... That's near enough a good a deal as a farmer gets !!
  23. They do look good tbh... Only seen a news article about them this morn. Good terms for borrowers by the looks of it.
  24. So it looks like a bandit zt or a pred 38 are the front runners then on my budget then. Still tempted to get the 252 put on tracks lol! Someone has done it before in the past ive seen a picture. In reality might aswell upgrade and get a bigger hp engine at the same time!
