  1. You were too slow I'm afraid.... You should have felled them before they served a tpo. Your tree surgeon should have known if they were worthy of tpo through working in that area and knowing what the tree officer is like.... If they said con area notification 6 week period ends 21st September.... You should have flopped them on the 22nd or asap aft that date as long as tpo not served through the letter box. Sorry but you dropped the ball here. Once that tpo is served your buggered. Get a consultant in to see if it is worth appealing.
  2. You have to check on the HYD flow on older tractors.... And most likely get a trailer with PTO pump fitted... You want 6 cyl for road work or 4 cyl for smaller places JD 2850 is 4 cyl turbo, JD 3040/3050 etc 6cyl non turbo Massey 390/398/399/698/699 mix of 4 and 6 cyl there
  3. Sent pm about winch
  4. I'd recommend something simple in the tractor section. Less electrics and fancy bits the better. Depends how much road work it will do.... Timber trailer usually just one axle hydraulic brakes off the tractor. Get best you can afford. Seen plenty at 5-6k unbraked but not safe for the road in my opinion. Trailer budget then pushed up to 9-12k
  5. Yes mine probably needs fresh rollers and a fresh main spring..... Another thing / tip is to cut timber with an angle on so feeds I to the rollers better Bet Jensen would rip me a new arsehole for new rollers!
  6. That's how we have to cut for the old Jensen a530t... Makes it smooth flowing.
  7. No don't think so.... Just will have vibrated over time and cracked the seal slightly so it's weeping.
  8. Yes hoping to find a sealant. Leave fuel level low.... Giver it a good brake cleaner and blow with airline then stick some gunk on it to seal it hopefully.... Machines only 3 1/2 year old and it's it's 3rd tank :0
  9. What on earth possessed timber wolf to try mate a metal inlet to a thin plastic tank? Couple of years ago.... Rainbows all over the floor, tried a new cap still the same. It appears the fuse ing of the plastic to metal inlet is no good! Day off and drive to warrington 110mile round trip to get a fresh tank fitted. Back at work still the same. Fitters cam up and fitted a new tank again.... Fine for 18mth ISH.... Then the other day diesel on a block paved drive.... Cleaned tank top etc and checked this morn and leaking again. There was nowt wrong with the old metal tanks. Any one know of some sealant to seal around the top of the tank? Cheers
  10. Yes they sort of seize and don't spring back. Crap design really.... I was going to go back down the tree motion route again but they were getting slated on a thread on here not long ago.... Why cant people make things that last? Money grabbing gits
  11. Similar style buckles on the tree austria 3.1 etc i think i have.... them buckles are shite. Something to do with ally / steel and brass..... corrosion or something can't remember what loler man said. Mines not massively old but the buckle levers stick and wont keep hold of the other bit. Never had these issues with my old tree motion! Have you tried loads of wd40 and work the buggers? My harness will be going in the bin by next loler i reckon. Probs similar age to yours
  12. Carrot dangling now... Stick it on eBay
  13. Yup and from my experience etc warranty ain't worth a shit... Rather fix stuff myself then piss about with dealers. Commuting, time off etc, faffing about with hmm not covered under warranty..... Balls. Fix stuff myself best way and bloody quicker
  14. Tom D on here is t d trees in Edinburgh... You could try there to see if any spare days for a new lad.... See how you get on
  15. Might be interest depending where you are and price of the machine ... How many hours has it done? The engines are usually ok for 1000 hours or so I heard? Not sure if that's correct though
  16. Come on Arb, be an optimist in some way. Bad year to be pessimistic. If it all has to go to biomass in the end then so be it. I take it your packing in with logs?
  17. I'm sure I will find somewhere for it in the firewood industry... That also makes it sound like domestic wood should go to waste as should be from sustainable source. Do you not think a lot will just start selling 2 cube deliveries? I know I will be doing
  18. Hi there, A lad did express interest in it for cladding at 2.5m so will see how that goes. Theres most likely a market for everything big and small its finding who wants it
  19. Now thats the constructive post I was after! When you say trim it out a bit better, you mean more cutting branch unions flush to the stem more etc? Yes the squiggleys will be thrown to one side then loaded last. Its the first trial at this and was lead to believe that 2.5m was the right length for the firewood boys etc. Was pretty happy with the mini digger picking up all the big pieces and stacking etc! I will endevour to keep bringing it back in 8' lengths to get a decent amount to move on. Will need to do the maths to make sure its worth while though
  20. I'm registered and most of my trade is commercial so makes no difference fortunately. My return is about to go in and they will be giving me £7k for the last quarter, I have been spending a lot!
  21. The guy said he is re claiming 7 k in the quarter.... So reclaiming back 7k of vat from purchases he has made over the quarter. He must have spent a good 30k plus vat to claim that back though
  22. No still waiting to talk. Been rammed with work and no signal at home doesn't help but does in other ways lol Knowledge is power will catch up soon. Not a way I have done wood before so seeing on everyone's experience's and what people expect etc make sure I'm doing it right.
  23. Also in fairness... The majority is larch with a few pine in there
  24. Yes I would have thought so. Ideally need to find someone into their firewood and start to sell it to them? Or get a lorry load and then advertise etc ... Just thought it would be more brass this way as said, peanuts for biomass and not too interested in mass production of logs either.
  25. Got this mix of larch, bit of pine and some hardwood on site to shift soon. Bit of processor hardwood from another site etc. Not masses but if I stocked it up then sold it figured it was better money this way?
