  1. I'm wanting to get a fresh welder as have a few bits and bobs I want to get sorted. I can get done with a friend but always best to have your own. Currently run a 161 turbo mig welder and it isn't a bad thing to be fair. I want something so I can weld some new loader brackets onto my current attachments so thick metal. Don't want silly money in one nor do I want a huge beast to store.... 200-230amp mig or just a stick welder? I know nothing of stick welders but hear they are good for thicker stuff. Many thanks Chris
  2. Now I'd say that was very reasonable pricing and good condition. Kind of thing I would like to buy
  3. Exactly....that little 230 is a hell of a chipper for what it is. Would have to go quite a bit bigger to better it. Such a lightweight thing it is. Esp co spidering I used to have tracked chipper and trailer every day. So from 1850-1900kg down to 750kg for the domestics. That's how to run business! Savings everywhere if you look for them. Less fuel and wear and tear on trucks. Still have tracked machine but will.upgrade at some point soon hopefully
  4. Probabilly missed it but what sort of brass is the e19 doobin please? Pm if you want. Many thanks Chris
  5. I was put off forst a good few years ago. Knew a few folk with lots of issues and never liked that screen display for turning on etc.... I went with a tw230 in the end for simplicity though this has had issues which after giving the dealer a few times to sort we fixed it ourselves. Next purchases will be second hand, either a tw190/230 tracked or a gm1928 As with all.machines you have to get to know them I think. All will have niggles from manufacturers to manufactures. Yes in your case I'm glad you have warranty. It's a shame you have to feel like you need to have warranty to be safe. As someone mentioned earlier the second hand value being poor and forst reb- buying them being the main way to move them on only locks you into the brand. Hope you can get sorted! Not sure which was is best to go for you, all the best.
  6. Me personally would never buy a new chipper again. Sadly the same with most people and makes once they have your money you can wait a bit. To me warranty isn't worth a shit and at times is more hassle than it's worth. I could take an older machine and do the same amount of work as you any day of the week. Also I'm not sure who on this earth would be daft enough to buy a used forst... Non of this is a dig at you or your situation. You've been sold a pup by the sounds of it. Good second hand machine and a good knowledge of spanners is the way forwards I say.
  7. You mean the evo or the STD one? I started on a second hand Williams.... Then had to climb on a leather weaver harness at work for a while before moving on
  8. Ahhh yes the annoying thin bungy cord on the back of the TM that gets caught on something and twangs your ass..... Almost forgot about that shitty part of the design
  9. Battery are 30 maybe and chargers 15.... Think it was 95 Inc battery and charger
  10. I have the ferrex Aldi battery chainsaw just as a tester to see what I thought and if it would get used. Quite impressed and very handy. Think it was around your budget. Have a look at them
  11. Yes this is why I've just gone down the wood walker route. Sod paying extra and they drop to bits in no time
  12. I've had loads of pairs of airstreams and the wood walkers..... Air streams are the dogs danglies.... I wouldn't pay extra for the new fancy ones.... That's what the manufacturers want thinking we like to parade round like on a cat walk looking good haha. My final disappointment with the air streams was a pair going bolloxed in 6 months if that.... And they're cold. I went back to wood walkers due to the fact you only get 10-12months out of boots usually so why pay more for a pair that's near the same and only lasts the same time!
  13. Haven't really read through all the blurb their Rick lol A friend of mine had the simarghu and has replaced it fairly recently, I know he had issues with stitches and some other bits so knocked that on the head. I've been using a tree Austria 3.2 for the last few years..... I know it's not in your selection but in fairness most harnesses are near the same but slightly different. I came from a full fat tm then to a horrible shitty lightweight TM... Horrible that second one was! Then the tree Austria. Tree Austria was OK I thought at first, but only now realise how restrictive it is in movement and your hips being able to move about with having a flat rectangle strap bridge..... I consider rope and 0 ring to be a lot better..... Better still a rope and a swivel. One loler the tester failed the bridge due to the ring wearing away a bit of stitch on the bottom of the Austria bridge. And it's on its way again. The buckles on mine are shite and the clasps have been sticking and leg loops coming undone etc. It won't help answer your question but I'm going to go for the std TM and then add the swivel like I used to climb on years ago. This should give a lot more freer movement. Good luck 🤞
  14. A true 2 ton machine would be what would suit me well.... Interested to know how you get on. I would be purchasing next year though and would be second hand
  15. You looking for work or checking out the competition 😉
  16. Where did you get it from? Wonder how much a 2.5t is hmmmm
  17. It's near given up here
  18. Only know of a valtra 6400 and winch near there
  19. I was told this also. Not and shouldn't be my problem....
  20. Right cheers for that. I would just want to change for a basic machine to be fair. We've just had a big purchase so this has been pushed down the line for a year or so. Currently have an old Volvo ec15bxr my lad that drives it wants a 1.9t twin speed tracking and vari track next lol
  21. Fair enough. Haven't a clue personally but just wanted to put into perspective for when looking at second hand machines. Thanks
  22. What sort of brass are these new roughly? 17k plus vat?
  23. Prussics are shite and bind up with sap and shite.... no good for your elbows too... Get an isc rope grab for it and be done with it.... only 30 odd quidish
  24. Just looking through and no one answered if they are CE marked for loler :(would be handy to know
  25. I believe they were good tractors but non turbod..... Loved my old case 856xl. Watch the cabs for rotting...
