  1. All tractors of this age will have gremlins and it is a roll of the dice.... What's your budget?
  2. Optimum size timber for processor i say is 8-12".... straight 4 way split a lot faster..... smaller diameter just cut and left whole and larger just split in half take a lot longer to fill the crates..... Then the 14" timber that once through the 4 way needs the top parts going back through as too big. The joys of splitting logs.
  3. Sorry but it has to be written down somewhere. How do we not know that this is scaremongering bullshit? Has to be written down somewhere for us to make informed decisions. This info should be publicly available
  4. How do they plan to police this? Is it still the case of supply 2 cube and say it still needs seasoning?
  5. It's been on the deck in the customers garden / land for 2-2.5 months and you've not moved it yet?
  6. Means my stack will be worth something then hahahaha 😉🤪
  7. Nah.... Why pay someone else to do something there isn't huge money in on a small scale? I have my own processor and specific tractor for it. It may only work 3 weeks a year if that but so what. Tax deductible object. No messing about with other folk. All on your own timescale. Crack on Kev and get some brass splashed
  8. I run a japa 370 and you really need the correct stuff at the side of the machine or it's pointless. Not sure how much bigger mine is but still takes 40-45 mins to fill an ibc crate. Could do in less time with a log deck and 8' lengths but who wants to be that serious at fire wood lol
  9. Good shout that on the inline possible wrong way round!
  10. Something's not right there.... You only need the glow plug for cold start then should be fine most if not all.of the day (depends how often your using it) starting up from warm should just be a turn the key and start. Can you hear the fuel pump making noise when the ignition is on? Possibility of water in your fuel? Sticking fuel stop solenoid? Possibility of air getting in fuel.system and the fuel draining back this taking ages to crank to start.... Cracked fuel filter housing or washer not sealing for bleeding the filter on top of it.
  11. I send allsorts of oversize away for biomass... Bit criminal really but too labour or investment heavy to get to a final product for me. Yes a screw splitter job would be ideal for it.
  12. To me.that would.go.in the biomass pile all day long lol
  13. Should be ok on that front as welder wouldn't be more than 10' max away from the socket... Mostly just wheeled around in the vacintiy of the plug socket. Then stored back away
  14. That socket is in my personal garage. That wire runs maybe 18m through house down to rcb and on its own fuse /rcb. Our house is the first of the row to get electricity.
  15. Niglon b32 on the breaker. Googled and 32amp
  16. Daft as it sounds which dimension do I measure? Seems wider and a bit deeper than norm.... Will look in the rcb see what amp breaker is
  17. This is the power supply to my garage... Wire looks bugger than normal and I told the sparkle to give me a decent cable as was going to run a mig.... Not sure if it's any cop or not but I think it's slightly bigger than usual? If not I'll get my new man to come and stick me a proper supply in! Cheers. With regards to price ideally 500 was enough I thought but if I have to spend a little more to get something right than so be it. Quality that lasts and is still running when I retire will do lol 🤣
  18. Just looked at rtec 250a inverter and only said 9mm metal not sure what I expected to be honest
  19. Forgot to say 230v power is all I have on normal supply amp
  20. I'm wanting to get a fresh welder as have a few bits and bobs I want to get sorted. I can get done with a friend but always best to have your own. Currently run a 161 turbo mig welder and it isn't a bad thing to be fair. I want something so I can weld some new loader brackets onto my current attachments so thick metal. Don't want silly money in one nor do I want a huge beast to store.... 200-230amp mig or just a stick welder? I know nothing of stick welders but hear they are good for thicker stuff. Many thanks Chris
  21. Now I'd say that was very reasonable pricing and good condition. Kind of thing I would like to buy
  22. Exactly....that little 230 is a hell of a chipper for what it is. Would have to go quite a bit bigger to better it. Such a lightweight thing it is. Esp co spidering I used to have tracked chipper and trailer every day. So from 1850-1900kg down to 750kg for the domestics. That's how to run business! Savings everywhere if you look for them. Less fuel and wear and tear on trucks. Still have tracked machine but will.upgrade at some point soon hopefully
  23. Probabilly missed it but what sort of brass is the e19 doobin please? Pm if you want. Many thanks Chris
  24. I was put off forst a good few years ago. Knew a few folk with lots of issues and never liked that screen display for turning on etc.... I went with a tw230 in the end for simplicity though this has had issues which after giving the dealer a few times to sort we fixed it ourselves. Next purchases will be second hand, either a tw190/230 tracked or a gm1928 As with all.machines you have to get to know them I think. All will have niggles from manufacturers to manufactures. Yes in your case I'm glad you have warranty. It's a shame you have to feel like you need to have warranty to be safe. As someone mentioned earlier the second hand value being poor and forst reb- buying them being the main way to move them on only locks you into the brand. Hope you can get sorted! Not sure which was is best to go for you, all the best.
  25. Me personally would never buy a new chipper again. Sadly the same with most people and makes once they have your money you can wait a bit. To me warranty isn't worth a shit and at times is more hassle than it's worth. I could take an older machine and do the same amount of work as you any day of the week. Also I'm not sure who on this earth would be daft enough to buy a used forst... Non of this is a dig at you or your situation. You've been sold a pup by the sounds of it. Good second hand machine and a good knowledge of spanners is the way forwards I say.
