  1. My tuppence..... Face book business pages not worth a shite. Face book full.of 10 quote warriors. I have one as a visual diary for works.... Not updated it in a long while though. Once every year if I can be arsed.... I repeat face book is shite
  2. Is it a tracked or road tow Pete? Thanks
  3. Hi Pete, Yes when you fell a tree in a field and it obliterates into a million pieces and lads are trying to shove it all up hill with shovel into a.chipper ballache! Yes that's where I'm at.... Found a hopper for reasonable brass, just no linkage .. would have to fabricate this and part of the mounting to the chipper. Ideally if I could find either a tw190 or maybe a gm1928 I wouldn't bother. Just think the 1928 be a bit numb for me.
  4. Just wondering if anyone has ever changed the hopper on a Jensen a530 from sloping to folding hopper? We don't use the chipper much at all but watching the lads feed it and mess about is painful. I'm considering changing the hopper to a fold down hopper which will be a lot better for us. I know the outlet bit from the chipper needs.modification etc, also the link between the stop bar and HYD spool for forwards and backwards would want altering etc. Just seeing if it's viable or if anyone else has done this? If so it will save me 10-12k which is what I would.have had to spend to replace it, freeing that brass up for something else. Cheers

    Chain oil

I ran veg oil for a few years and was ok then the plastic oil worm drive gears started to strip... Went back to mineral oil which is peanuts! I've been considering switching onto Clarke's bio oil but the cost is huge compared to mineral! And even the 205ltr drums don't give much discount at all.... Me being a tight bugger I still havent decided what to do
  6. Right this is the new whip from now on. Just spent the last few weeks going through it getting it ready for work
  7. Yes they are a good do. Can pay in up until your 50.... The. Start to draw tax free from 60 And yes bang 4k a year in and get 1k off the government, what's not to like?! Not something I will rely on but it's definitely something I take advantage of and will top me.up when I get there
  8. It's silly really. Quite a lot of threads are normal rubbish but every now and again one comes out thats decent and gets ruined. Shame really as the good threads are what's needed for this place to thrive. I would deffo give a warning or ban one lad that's for sure going off that last thread, business expansion. Took it too far and silly
  9. T's are huge though in comparison to my massey 399.... the n is slightly bigger and heavier (than the 399) so still should be a sturdy bus in my eyes. I'll look into re map prices and chips etc before i do anything
  10. Didn't you run a 120hp 4 pot deutz? For a timber trailer till a year or so ago? How was that?
  11. Anyone running n series valtra's? Being 4 cyl turbo are they still a decent thing? Used to 6 cylinder turbo. Can they be remapped or a.steinbauer chip fitted etc. Obv more manoeuvrable than the t series etc. Would be for PTO winch and dragging an 11t botex trailer around. Cheers
  12. Good move. Wouldn't consider the Jo beau myself personally! It will be a predator 28 or 38 when I change over no doubts there
  13. Just wondering if anyone is running a t series valtra with a front loader at all? I want to ask you how you find it and what kind of steering effort it requires with weight on the front and stationary? Can you cycle the steering left to right with relative ease with weight on? Both on a hard surface and in the field. Cheers
  14. Interesting to know.... My first petzl with the adjustment dial at the back was ace.... This new one with different thickness.of headband is shite.... Utter stupid design made for petzl just to gain more money. Like you say it's a wobbly sod and worse when wearing glasses like me. Hate the bloody thing. Wish my old helmet wasn't run over by a tracked chipper lol My mates just bought a protos but hasn't brought it to work yet!!!! Me being a tight git was still thinking petzl but might have to push the boundaries and go for the protos
  15. It's all speculation and bollox. Sick of some off the bullshit news articles that come up.on my phone.... See what happens when it happens otherwise you can speculate all day long and worry. If taxes rise and blah blah blah has no one thought of dropping down to a 3-4 day week lol haha
  16. Never had this issue before but I can't help but think.... Why faff about putting a new engine in a tool that only costs 400.00 and used every day? When mine started dicking about I just bought a new one and threw the old on a shelf
  17. That drawbar looks wank. Wouldn't go near it personally
  18. Yup, all this was taught years ago aswell running bowline and a Blake's hitch and use other end of rope IF needed. Never have done like lol
  19. Where is this to unclip? Never done this on my 550xpg.... Cheers
  20. Thanks for your service old girl.
  21. Considering the impending woodsure scheme I'm not massively interested in investing in firewood area etc... will see how it goes. My main issue is I'm changing my tractor and dont want the new one sat about running a log splitter. Id like to use my david brown on the pto as the hyd output is pathetic. Has anyone knocked up a pump, reservoir and pipes to their original hyd splitter for a reasonable amount? my splitter is only a cheap 10T ktm but has plenty of puff for my needs Just wondering on costings then time etc or whether to just get a fresh splitter. Ideally wanted to leave it outside so prefer my older ugly / less likely to be nicked splitter if you know what i mean! Cheers
