  1. My only thoughts with the silage trailer was to contain chip more than anything else..... chip in long grass is a pain in the ass to clear up and stands out like a sore thumb
  2. Just a bit small at times it is nowadays
  3. Has sides on currently and that takes it to 9 -10 cube.... was OK when using 6" chippers would take a while to fill. It needs sides on sides now! Lol also fabricators are a pain and never reply to getting quotes etc. Was thinking of keeping Fleming and getting another trailer aswell
  4. Most trailers nowadays are all 8' wide aswell! My Fleming is 7' wide so well within tractor and even that's tight on gateways at times
  5. Are the 8-10 stud super singles a big improvement over the normal flotation 6 stud 15.3 agg tyres?
  6. In fairness I don't even know how super singles travel over land.... at times I'm asked to go on land nor at the best moments shall we say! I like how the fat tyres on my timber trailer flatten out the cleat marks from the tyres where I've been and leave a good finish....
  7. Yeah seen this.... Jpm multi purpose dump trailer 14t.... least can stick a digger on the back.... my current trailer is 9-10 cube.... the way I'm going is to chip more and want a high capacity trailer.... Defford hyd rear door! Sprung drawbar be nice Never seen the potato trailers..... used to have a masses 700 trailer which was a grain trailer 12t and 16' long.... why did I sell it lol 😆 Things have moved on now and so has my business... all for he better thankfully
  8. Cheers for that... Just the thought of me in an artic though! i take it that is what C catagory is? Never really looked into whats what. Thanks
  9. Hi all, Just wondering what folk are running behind their tractors for a large capacity trailer for chip etc? something like 16' long and a 12T trailer ish? I see some are running a grain trailer, which seems shite flys everywhere! and some run larger silage type trailers? I would like to get a larger trailer for the larger chipping jobs. Ideally something with a hydraulic back door! Some of the silage trailers are auto back doors so only open when tipping? What are any of these trailer like to fill with an open back door? Running gear I would love some big flotation tyres but most likely end up with something on super singles.... Ideally would prefer not to have a big 8' wide trailer..... Ideally 7'-7'6" max as my tractors most likely smaller than yours lol Any advice?
  10. What sort of brass am i looking at for 7.5t license and trailer test? looks like you going / looking at the same route. Thanks
  11. Be nice if the gits let me have my 7.5t licence for nowt! Was pissed years ago after doing my b+e to find if i wanted a 7.5t truck id have to do the bloody trailer test again ffs.... On the bonus, does this mean my lad that works for me doesnt need to do his trailer test now? Jammy git
  12. And here's me at 32 having done it for 11 years thinking I don't want to be doing this when I'm 45-50..... 😆
  13. Nah, If its been missed and should have been replaced under warranty then why let timberwolf off? If all should have had new chassis then all should have been sorted
  14. It should have just been changed.... Mine was even though was no issues with mine at the time.... all they did was beef up that axle area to approx twice the thickness and some other bits and bobs..... If you had have had this done then this wouldnt have happened... Did you own the chipper from new? If so I'd be stamping your feet and demanding its sorted by timberwolf for free.... The dealer hasnt done you a good deed by not fitting the new chassis when it should have been done!
  15. Yup they all still get the treatment..... need to start bringing it in to get near compressor rather than just blower.
  16. We always run the blower over the rad after every job it's good practice! New chippers air cooled any how now lol
  17. Your right there John, think it's a smart move on my part. Please can you show me and tell me the setup you have on the front of the bobcat for a grab please?
  18. Decision done. Picking this up next weekend. Smaller 1.8t.machine suits my workload better. I've got a tractor loader and botex 560 after all so it only needs to get things so far, but I need a machine that can get anywhere. A 2.5t machine wasn't that. Just need to sort a grab and possibly rotator now and some other bits and bobs..... Never heart of a Martin manual hitch before but nothing off my old Volvo will change over as different pin spacings and maybe diameter of pins! one online source said hydraulic flow was 48lpm which I didnt think was shabby!
  19. I must admit I think this engine is great.... Runs like a sowing machine and sounds sweet! Think it's 70 odd hours power. It's a 4 cylinder air cooled setup
  20. Hi there, Pretty sure it's just one injector pump, haven't had chance to properly look at it to be honest..... All there is is a lever that comes out of end of pump for revs that's all.... Strange setup, looks like it's got 8 injectors.... Don't know why
  21. Has anyone ever had any dealings with the hatz diesel engines at all? We have a piece of equiptment fitted with a hatz 4m40l engine.... When we bought it we didn't notice any smoke etc but it could have been there..... Machine wasn't maintained too good. Blocked air filters etc and needed a going through. Fully serviced now, new oil air and fuel filters job lot. Originally it didn't have an air filter pre cleaner fitted either..... So all the crap would suck straight in airbox and clog filters. Now I've fitted a airbox pre cleaner like off an old David brown etc .... Noticed the engine smoking black smoke a bit when using it. Esp if you rev it up all at once. I possibly put it down to machine being Stood for a good while also and need a good blowing out. Smoke seems to be better after running it for a few days but it's smelly ... Yuck To me the machines is smelly and runs rich! Thought of some stanadyne fuel system cleaner but wondered if anyone has dealt with these engines in the past and knows if fuel governor can be altered at all? Like I says it's smelly and not too nice. Thanks Chris
  22. What do folk think of the volvo ec range? I know I run one but its an oldie.... seen a nice 1.8t near me.... WHats prices like on them generally? dear or dearer than others or just the same? Thanks
  23. Right.... Think It might be better to look at a cheaper second hand 2.5machine and keep the 1.5 also... Need to think of where I want to go in business and maybe go for slightly bigger digger and low loader it to site Too many decisions and no job is the same 🤣 Uses for digger are only to aid stump grinding and carting logs about. Not into massive digging out jobs etc.
  24. What flow is required for a flail on one of these diggers? the 216 or 7 only has 30lpm.... thought want great
  25. I would really like a 2.5 but seeing this one in the flesh it seems.quite large.... Leaning towards the 1.8t Also now considering new ... Used are between 11-16k depending on hours and age and a new one only a smidge more!
