  1. i could do with a 35hp tracked grinder be a good upgrade for me.... saw a rayco rg35 a while ago but was put off with 35" wide but they are what they are.... what about them big old towable things? i take it big stumps are better access.... move it about with loader etc
  2. I would have though over there a machine that size would be the choice! lot bigger access I would think? tracked carlton 70 whatever it is etc
  3. I've always been stuck on this subject as grinders are expensive to purchase..... I'd be daft enough to grind that stump out with my old vermeer sc252 and it would do it no problem but its all about moving position and clearing the gear.... Like you say irrespective of brand 18k plus etc takes some earning back... I think some things have a price limit to me and I think 10k is enough to have in most (individual) equiptment to do a job sensibly..... Good luck....
  4. Of course it isn't.... But the end of the day I don't want to fall our etc but please don't think everyone is nieve or an idiot without common sense .. I drove for years with a trailer and no training, self taught.... how do most people get the experience? Most people get the ticket just to pass and know how to do that function already. Box ticking basically.... How many times do you think someone would go back to the yard unhitch trailer of a night etc or hook up in a morning.... some folks like me run wide trailers so always making sure drivers go wide to get round without clipping kerbs.... tyres are 65 quid a pop you know.... All the learning is subconscious and Done on the job day in day out. Securing the load on trailer will be shown and load positioning... once shown its easy to do. Visual checks of tyres or look that ones a bit flat we will pump that up when we get back. Driving down the road, how does it feel and follow? Is it slapping you up the arse cos dampers ****************ed or brakes not adjusted? Training can be in house and signed piece of paper stating that. Also to employ some one you judge their character and how they are before electing anyone loose in the hot seat.... and that's long before they have a trailer on the back. My trailer test taught me nowt Not going to go on and on but i could.... I get your.pissed with the situation as wouldni but i think you must take us lot for silly sods at times. I'd say think before you speak and judge thanks.... not everyone's a novice straight off the nipple
  5. Suitably trained would to me be watching me backing places and being the banks man.... then practicing at the yard and then practising on site... that's more than enough breast feeding for most
  6. Yup got a new lad starting and thinking great can tow for me.... nope ffs..... 🙅🏻 need it now ish too....
  7. There was a 2016 bandit 90xp with 600 odd hours on for 25k I saw the other day. Not sure how much they were new
  8. What size is a vermeer 1000?
  9. I'd keep your eye out for a cheap bandit 90 if you can find one
  10. The belt issue sucks then.... I thought there was a tensioner upgrade for that model? I know what you mean on the grind depth being only 12" The predator are 18" I think which is great and a good upgrade but weigh 1t.... do that's to consider when going over flags or over edges, across lawns etc... Hard decision and place to be! I've been sat on the fence for a long while and battle my way along with a vermeer sc252 and tackled allsorts! If I could just find something that would suit! Good luck
  11. Curious to know how you've gotten o with the bandit if you don't mind please? Wheels struggle on kerbs also... just need a few bist of 3x2 to help take the height out of it. With tracks I take it you take a board with you to turn o the grass and always track straight.
  12. Think....monkey business runs a newer navara... Don't know much about them apart from like the look of them and there was a surge of them on the roads I'd noticed 12 months or so back. Wondered if there was a deal on
  13. Problem is with all firms is that all HAVE to run new gear.... They all then walk into the various issues with every make out there.... and get shafted and messed about by warranty and poor manufacturers. You've already experienced this. Nothing wrong with older stuff. I know salesmen like kerb crawling and street cred so old no good to them lol 😆 I wish you good luck 😀
  14. Looks good! Have you done owt to site to finish it off as ground looks good? Just run over it with machine? Or just how it is when left? I've often looked into how I can leave a site looking good but it comes down to omlet and eggs
  15. I thought you were low impact Big J?? That's the kind of mess I usually make 😆 You can keep that rain though! Cold and dry up here
  16. I need another tipper in my fleet but can I do it 😕
  17. Cheers Connor appreciate it. 👍
  18. Thanks.... I think I best pull the covers and have a quick measure and maybe some pics when the weather gets better! Will report back
  19. Possibly yes, it has to have something to calculate from.... Had a Google before and it said something about poles on alternator, diameter of pully 1/4 or something and sounded a chappy thing to find out... and not even sure if it would have been correct either! Auto feed is useless to me at the moment and disconnected and using control bar to manually do the stress control
  20. Hi everyone, Just bought a new auto feed clock for a bandit 90 and come to fit it. When calibrating the clock it needs to know how many teeth on flywheel for the sensor (not my setup!) Or the alternator ppr (my setup ) anyone know anything about alternator ppr? Is there an easy way to find it out I.e stamped on alternator somewhere etc? Engine is an air-cooled hatz diesel 73hp Cheers
  21. Just go buys some you tight wad! I had a job come up recently so just went out and bought 6 slings and crabs. Just buy some.... crabs were only 9-10.00 each plus vat. Bugger all in the grand scheme of things
  22. I have woes every time I use my 550.... don't get me wrong it runs allright and starts OK.... I just hate the thing 😆
  23. And this is the kind of shite subject that eventually gets more red tape wrapped around out industry from pencil pushers.... You can't fix stupid simple as that.
  24. Sorry thought you wanted a kit loler test
