  1. Just wondering what folks are running on their predator 28/38? Not ran multi tip for years and I believe they are 15 quid a tooth now? Where do people buy their multi tip teeth from? Also seen rhino teeth as an alternative. My other thought was green wheel. Larger investment for starters then cheaper teeth and 3 turns. wheels 420 ish then pockets and teeth to buy so maybe another 200 quid ish.... Also out of curiosity... what are the wheels made out of? could I get someone with a laser cutter to make me a fresh wheel up out of steel? or does it have to be hardened or some other process? Cheers
  2. Does look a fair chipper like and certainly not chipping match sticks lol ๐Ÿ˜† wonder what lifespan is on a chipper like that when feeding big lengths etc all the time...? This is my bigger trailer. Big enough for me. Think it's 25 cube can't remember
  3. Nice trailers them. 36 cube. We have an friend that shifts chip for us with one. Like that chipper but I kept looking at it thinking if it shit the bed I'd want to be far far away from it!

  5. I'm looking for more hp / torque. But mainly more sweep and cutting height and depth.... I was hoping there would be more older bigger grinders about. Either way everything's thin on the ground. Look near everyday

    My ranger was like that this year! Garage couldnt fit it in for mot when needed and its mainly used as a saturday quoting motor so sat about a lot. so Mot lapsed by a couple of weeks... then another week or so before mot then Fail..... I tried to rebook for first thing in the morning so I could give it a good run up to temp etc but they couldnt. I dropped it in with them and they left it running whilst they finished off an mot >30mins or so and it passed no problem. Never had an issue with emmisions before. My issues was it was sat about and then not brought properly up to operating temperature when tested thats all.

  11. Just on with going through a chipper at the moment. The clutch area was a right mess etc... In the picture you see the bellhousing off the engine and the actual shaft that goes through clutch into a bearing at the flywheel end. This powers a pulley with 4 belts and the only way to tension is to slide engine which puts strain on this bearing straight away. So, I noticed lots of play when I removed the drive belts.... like a spoon in a bowl. Flywheel end bearing was knackered but so much so it wore the housing the bearing sat in. Clutch splines knackered and worn more on one side also! Engine 73hp ish. The current bearing on that shaft is OK but it is a double roller bearing. Tough but allows for wiggle / sortnof self alignment. Certainly enabled the stir the bowl technique here! I would have thought it would be better with a regular tough roller bearing? as nothing is supposed to move at all. Or is the original fine and the other components gave up first?

  13. Happy days Mick, See this is what I like from viewing on here about greenmech. There seems to be a good solid support and people to turn to. That's what convinced me to buy a safetrak a few months back. Means a lot to have people there willing to help!
  14. Hi there, yes it's just for the no stress.... I know the old clock before it went crap read 2600rpm flat out. Going to play with the settings when I've got it back together
  15. Yes but they are in America.... guy called Kurt. I've one I've yet to fit to my bandit when I get time and sort my ppr settings out. You can program it to come in when you want then.... cheap enough too till bloody royal mail hold it ransome and want approx 70 quid off you to release it ! ๐Ÿ™„
  16. Took the chipper out of service last week and only just managed to get around to looking at it. Oil pressure is 42 psi when cold and solid 35psi when warm. Compression tests today reveal 380 psi across all 4 cylinders. Starts first time and runs and sounds well. Might not be as bad as I first thought. My issue is blue smoke on a cold start up. With my above findings I'm leaning towards just valve stem oil seals. And service the injectors..... see what it looks like when I take the heads off.... hopefully bores look OK and valves are OK when I've stripped the heads Down. Fingers crossed!

  19. If I remove the alternator is it easier to work out? I've not a clue what I'm looking for .... anyone help? Many thanks

Just getting round to this now.... and I've taken covers off and found that my Alternator pulley is 70mm and the crank is 140mm PPR = P x R /2 โ€œPโ€ is the number of poles in the alternator. โ€œRโ€ is the pulley ratio. Determine the pulley ratio by dividing the crank pulley diameter by the alternator pulley diameter So my r value is 2.... How do I work out how many poles on this alternator? It's the last piece of the puzzle lol ๐Ÿ˜† helllllllpppppp ๐Ÿ˜€
  21. Where's that video showing the dipsticks that work for glendales fell a tree next to transit that falls on the transit? I've seen another where a lad chogs a big bit off it cart wheels off and takes out a brick pillar... Kinda sums the intelligence of some of the workers up there for me...... Where are your team leaders and good staff? Surely you can't just be sending out a van full of newbies to every job?

  23. The ladder thing is more for trimming really. And your right about top of a ladder and cutting etc. Some will say occupational hazard etc It was a shit grueling job but you got to the end. Each one will be different. Some will be a piece of piss walk through the top. You will find also ones that have been repeatedly topped and or trimmed, the middles start rotting and snap under your foot! Conifer hedges are shit end of! Lol ๐Ÿ˜†
