I wouldn't say undercut.... that word gets thrown about too often. I would say some can go work cheaper or have less work in their diary so can jump on sooner. And then some folk will be a bit desperate

I'd say this interest rates and energy scare tactics are coming in early..... I'd say its a lot more quiet on enquiries at the moment. A lot more window shoppers too.... There are some folk still with money that will get things done but a lot that either won't or will wait for people to go cheaper or find someone cheaper. A lot recently I have found if you ring back maybe 2 days later, some one has allready been out to price and even some folk are doing the jobs near straight away! Folk just do not like to wait but if you've a full diary what can you do. I try to be optimistic but I fear things will get a lot quieter sooner than later.... you can't even blame it on summer holiday lol as they're not even here yet....
  4. Just get the deposit put down and worry about the rest later lol 😆 No videos?
  5. I think personally the smart thing to do would be to get someone to price them.... If your hell bent on doing it yourselves : Up your budget slightly. Buy a driven hydraulic machine like a vermeer sc252 or rayco 1625..... stumps will be a lot easier for you and your back! with the above machines, you stand to the side and use levers to grind the stump and drive the grinder. Lot easier than ragging yourself to bits with pedestrian grinder. Do the stumps and move the grinder on for very little depreciation!

Up for sale is my Vermeer Sc252 stump grinder. Year 2003. I have owned this machine for approx 7-8 years and have done a heck of a lot of stumps with it. The hours are currently 1357. Engine was replaced by previous owner at 1000 hours but I have no paperwork to show you to confirm this. Fitted with a Kohler twin cylinder 25hp petrol engine. Please look at the pictures for the condition. It is no “Looker” and the paintwork or lack of, lets it down a little but it is mechanically spot on. In my ownership I have replaced : New electric clutch when I first purchased (450.00 plus vat) Replaced the bottom main pivot pin at some point. In the last year or so I have replaced both jack shaft and cutter wheel bearings and the cutter wheel side belt pulleys. I'm sure the main cutter wheel shaft was worn when I did the bearings so changed that also (expensive job!) Machine comes with spare vermeer belts ( approx 100.00) and a set of dual wheels (450.00 plus vat). The dual wheels help a lot when on a wet site or to aid traction. Also they help when grinding and riding over the mounts of chip the grinders pile in front of the drive wheels! This machine has paid for itself time and time again but this year I bought myself a tracked replacement and this is no longer being used. These machines are great and reliable. I have done some very large stumps with this in my time. Backup from vermeer is also spot on and parts readily available. Machine is fitted with vermeer yellow jacket teeth. Once one side dulls you can turn them around and have another sharp cutter side. It was running the standard amount of teeth and pockets but I dropped it down to 3 sets of pockets to see if it ground more efficiently as less pockets mean less resistance and drag in the ground. I have not had chance to try it out yet. There is some spare pockets to come with the machine, but if you wanted to put it back to the standard amount of teeth and pockets you'd need to buy a couple of pockets I think. Great machine albeit scruffy looking. Please no silly offers or tyre kickers or I will simply remove the grinder from sale and keep it! Price is £3000.00 plus vat. I cannot sell with out vat! Item is located Barnoldswick, Lancashire Payment via bank transfer only. And only on cleared funds will the machine be released. Sold as seen. No warranty given or implied

    £3,000

  7. I was wondering that.... A friend sent me a video a good while back of a new tracked 540 or even 550 demo video and it was absolutely pathetic.... You wouldn't have parted with your brass with that performance!
  8. Didn't they go small crappy engine?
  9. Ahh balls.... better get my wallet out again then! Ebay sort me out hopefully
  10. Right I've ordered it... if its shite, its on you Gary lol
  11. These are the ports I want to check
  12. Right Gary hopefully that box will do and get more connectors as needed I see yours is for the tractor spools etc 👍
  13. Just wondering what kit people have or use please for checking pressures on their diggers, stump grinders and chippers etc? All seem much of a much Ness..... Spotted this on ebay : https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm?itemId=401619232165&du=1 Not a clue what connectors I need but on the grinder and chipper seem like small quick fit connectors and the male on the grinder and chipper is approx 12mm dia.... handy they both seem the same. Anyone have one then and what or where did you get it from? Thanks
  14. I'd have that 955 and the 56 series in the back ground 😎
  15. 183.9 p at my local..... 185.9p the other day down in Hampshire..... 199.9p at motor way services
  16. Don't worry Hodge.... trigger Andy is a dick most days. Someone must have put 50p in him
  17. Don't know if I've got the same one or not.... handy little thing tbh.... not powerful etc. Quite quiet. Ideal for the side of the chipper and nipping off side branches etc. Will cut some bigger diameter wood but that's where your battery drains.... if its for cross cutting don't bother. Snedding for chipper we've had the battery last for a good few hours in a morning. Chains arnt the nicest. Bit grabby horrible vibe... was wondering if a 200t chain might fit at some point. Chain tensioner setups a bit of a faff and a bit crap but it all works
  18. You'd have to see if they make a wheel for your grinder. Not sure if you can fund out online? Alternatively you can get a rhino wheel and look at rhino teeth. Rhino teeth also work with the std predator wheel and keepers etc

  20. I have just put my vermeer sc252 up for sale 25hp tatty but good machine 3500 plus vat
  21. Once you start hitting crap with them they soon wear their edge and pissing in the wind. 28 quid for the lead cutters, not like greens or yellow jackets and a quick turn or cheaper teeth (albeit more of them)
  22. It seems currently that we keep getting hammered with punctures and its due to the yard that I am in, nothing I can do about this. Only issue is nowadays, the garages cant be arsed doing puncture repairs and if the do its 20 quid plus vat for a repair! We've had between 4-5 punctures in the last couple of months! so it adds up and i'm getting annoyed with it. I'm just wondering if anyone uses kits like this anymore? 6pcs Motorcycle Car Tire Repair Tools Tubeless Tyre Puncture Needle Patch WWW.EBAY.CO.UK Compatible with: vehicles with tubeless tires, this kit will allow you to repair perforations quickly and efficiently. This is... Maybe not specifically this one as its first example i could find but same setup.
  23. Im just wondering what grinder wheel people use to tickle up teeth when on site with a 4 1/2" grinder? and if so where you got from? Im using multitip at the moment and would be nice to try tickle them up on site rather than just swap them out all the time. I hope its worth while lol Many thanks
  24. Yeah trailer situation is still a major head ache.... I've been looking to get a ifor gh1054 but like you say next year and prices keep going up. I priced a new gh1054 up and it was 3900 plus vat.... sure they were only 2500ish 3-4 years ago. Good luck in the search
  25. Using my new to me muscle on site this morning
