    Has anyone mentioned to make sure the smokes not blowing towards the climber cause that's a right pita. Using diesel soaked tyres and old oil's a bit 1970 for me, any black smokes a bit of a no no and petrols ok if in small amounts but doesn't really set a good example if the trainee's watching and thinks it's a good idea to chuck a bit more on when your backs turned.

    1st pic looks crack handed to me but obviously works, I've always done it clamped between my legs with the bar resting on a log on site but end up with chronic pins and needles and doing the ministry of silly walks till the bloods flowing again. Much prefer a sturdy vice but also yet to find a decent method on site. Filings in the eye ? Yep frequently😭

    Mother in laws mutts got cancer in his danglies which apparently has caused another non cancerous infection in his kidneys, they can't whip em off now as he's weak due to not eating because of the infection, a vicious circle that may not have a positive outcome. Apparently it's not too uncommon and obviously would have been avoided if he was done as a pup.

    Just thought I'd give Sarron a little bump here, We used him for a couple of days this week and he's well worth getting on board if you need a hand. We had a load of tpo'd limes to work on and he did some nice tippy, leggy reductions for us over the road and multiple phone lines, turned up early and helped till the end. Very pleased with all he did and a good contact to have.

    Will the £300 insurance voucher help pay for the hole I punched in my ceiling, jumping for joy at the thought of all the shiny things I was going to get with my voucher?? 😀😀 Only jesting of course, happy to win anything or nothing at all, it's a great charity the money couldn't go to a better cause.

    Looks good to me, the older twigs have corky bark which is a handy ident feature if you took any more pics.

    It was a tiny bit of rot about 3-4cm right down the middle. Jons picked a few bits up from us before so he's welcome to have a root around if he's willing. Did you get the cotoneaster chunk?

    Took a little one down this week maybe 12" diameter but it got rung up, there's possibly 8 sections about 10" but it did have a little hole right down the middle. It's on the firewood pile at the mo but can be pulled if you want it.

    I was involved in the removal of one in dorking that was similar size to that one. Some one at the time said it was part of the first batch introduced to the country.
