  1. Destruction in my own garden A mighty jackmontii toppled
  2. Dark cupboard ?? Not this one, found her on the sofa about 12" from my head, she was looking very sleepy till the recapture
  3. Ta very much 👍🏻. I was amazed how quickly she scarpered considering how lethargic she'd been earlier. Not worried myself but better half and daughters not too impressed.
  4. Oops, it managed to liven itself up once it came indoors and somehow managed to get out the pot I have had it in for the last few hours. Apparently that makes me an "absolute dick" but I'll take that as a compliment.
  5. Anyone id this one for me ? I've had her in my garage for a few years now and as I'm taking it down thought she might like it in the summer house but don't really want her there if she might nip the kids. Looks vaguely like a false widow to me but I know there's a couple of spider nerds on here somewhere.😊
  6. Never knew that, thought they were quite similar to pops the few times I've worked on them and for some reason thought they were related.
  7. Not sure if these count this is self seeded and probably owners prob don't even know they exist. And this is more stupidity rather than neglect Only slightly blunted my chain but at least I won't spill my coffee on the way to work every day.
  8. My first thought considering some joinery off cuts I bought for kindling was liriodendron, I guess that falls into the pop bracket.
  9. It's a similar leaf to acacia koa's adult leaf, not saying it's that but certainly similar with the parallel veins. Is it in the uk?
  10. I guess willow by the bark, but all your pics could be better.
  11. I'm not aware of anywhere local, the nearest green waste place I know of is in Epsom, probably 3/4 of an hr away or the rangers on Wimbledon common will take good quality logs if you cut them to length for them.
  12. When we visited new lands corner with college (merrist wood) many years ago they told us the soil had been affected by dog waste in the immediate vicinity to the car park, no references other than my poor memory I'm afraid but someone had looked into it.
  13. For me it's just a toy, I can borrow a 66, buy a milling chain and have a play with bits of timber that would be rung up, given away or very occasionally sold. If I can get enough planks to make a couple of picnic benches that would cost 3-400 £ each I'm quids in. I'd touted with the idea of an Alaskan for ages but couldn't justify the cost.
  14. Nope 😀
  15. You can just buy a whole new mill at those prices, how many do you have to buy before it works out more than the original ? My 48" cost £85 I think, how much for the granburg ?
  16. To be fair our husky's have all been faultless until they've gone wrong 😃 I think the problems have all been down to the auto tune, it just seems a bit silly that the manufacturers can't get one of there own saws running. That saw's probably over 3 yrs old now and was always the first saw out the container every day so prob not been bad value. We switched from stihl after our 261 was so pants and if we have to replace it I'll go husky again.
  17. One of our 550's was returned to husky by our local dealers who couldn't get it running properly and apparently they returned it saying they wouldn't touch it as its out of warranty.
  18. I had an onsite visit from a trading standards officer who was basically there to check we weren't Cowboys ripping people off, one of the things she mentioned was whether the we had written t's and c's and that they included a cooling off period. She left after I explained the job was quoted for a couple of months previously she left seemingly happy only to return 15 or so minutes later with a copy of their recommended t's +c's for us to look at including the cooling off period.
  19. God knows, though I doubt it (not that fussy about things tbh)
  20. Never heard it called a scrench before. Looks like it would get in the way to me but obviously not for you.
  21. I've got some Bluetooth urban ears ones I use when the other halfs TVs doing my head in, rarely listen to music out now, just use the headphones for the phone when driving.
  22. They'd just end up wrapped round the transit steering column with me.
  23. Is that not a lot of money for a set of headphones that aren't quite good enough ? 😊
  24. One of our councils wants to know height and width amount and max cut size. Perhaps that's what there after.
  25. "Good enough for you" by dodgy used to relay a lot between me and the climber when I was younger.
