  1. No both work on the same principal, pivoting on the wheels. The rayco is front heavy though so you have to put your weight on it to lift the head up which is a pain on level ground and even worse in a hole where the stump used to be whereas the blue chip is evenly balanced. The blue chip is a direct copy/rip off of the dosko grinder if you've seen them
  2. I'm sure the rayco will serve you well. 😊
  3. It's the same engine as our Dan equip 25 sp but seems twice the size and weight and is a tad top heavy. If it's affordable and reliable go for it but I'd look at other options if they're there. You probably don't have the same access issues as us so size may not be such an issue.
  4. We've only had it a couple of months and haven't got a problem with build quality or reliability, it's just so heavy, big and badly balanced, I reckon I burn twice the calories using that over the blue chip.
  5. Can't stand our rg 25 We bought it as we're finding the blue chips too unreliable but it's an overweight, cumbersome, unbalanced old dinosaur in comparison. Wish we'd looked at the bandit.
  6. From earlier http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=88838
  7. Cornus maybe.
  8. Mid Surrey take any green waste,
  9. I've got a smock, find the collars a tad uncomfortable when up despite (apparently) having a long neck myself, on the whole they're pretty good but usually end up chucking on my ex army goretex as I prefer the full length zip so you can take them off easier and the massive hood fits over the helmet. The smock is no more waterproof than my 8 yr old ex army stuff btw just brighter.
  10. Cheers
  11. How much was that Dom?

    Tree ID

I reckon it might be a Portuguese laurel. Not sure why. Think it's a sixth sense.
  13. Still saying pear with a bit of rust.
  14. Your attachment point on your harness is supposed to be weak and the point on the saw also. Think it was more of a problem when using back handled saws on old school harness's
  15. http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/400386743514 Reckon this could be handy
  16. Claw hammers pretty usefull
  17. Pear for me too
  18. I normally get 12 months out of any boot before I wear the soles out but I'm pretty much permanently on the deck these days. My air streams are on there way to Meindl at the mo for resoling but the uppers are in good nick.
  19. Lawsons Thuja Leylandii
  20. Lawsons branches tend to lay flatter whereas leylandii the foliage grows off at different angles from the branch/twig, thuja's kind of a bigger flatter needle/leaf (Wish I could describe it better, I'm sure someone can).
  21. Looks like lawsons to me
  22. Mind you if the cones are an inch across its prob a maccie, they don't sprout from old wood mind???
  23. If it's sprouting from "old wood" and your not sure if it's leylandii or lawsons it's probably a thuja 😊 Jon dropped off that cotoneaster yet?
  24. Unless it's grown through through from the other side
  25. Depending on the height you should be able to leave enough foliage so you can't see the dead stubs in the middle, I often take the stubs in the middle lower than the foliage so there's even less chance of spotting them. Where you start can vary but I'd normally start on the right if possible so I can cut with my stronger right hand and chuck with the left. Pics help
