  1. Dunno if it's worth a courier, but I know Jon's taken some stuff over for you before. You don't get many this size though
  2. Got a couple of biggish lumps of cotoneaster here if you can get em collected and are interested
  3. Yep, they pick up any cable with electricity running through it, they also have a setting for detecting radio signals in a cble that isnt live. No good for gas or water though.
  4. No idea what it's worth but I like it, at a guess £500 but it wouldn't surprise me if it's higher.
  5. Yep. You may well be right there
  6. Still reckon there's a good chance it's one of these, key point would be if it's sticky If it's not got a lot of sap I'd go with yew if not cupressus.
  7. Unfortunately this tw wasn't built for terrain like that.
  8. Chassis on a friends tw150. Was spotted way too late but luckily not too late. Yes it should have been spotted sooner, one side looked like it was fairly a old crack. It's about 10 yrs old and goes over a lot of speed humps and an unmade road
  9. Cupressus arizonica or glabra. Horrible tangly blue thing
  10. Broke my arm falling off climbing frame at a similar age, my mum got a telling off at the hospital but apparently there was no stopping me when it came to climbing. Crap now though..
  11. The smaller one I'd like to bring indoors and it's prob a bit too rustic even for my house, I might try sanding a small section see how it goes. Would a light oil of some kind make it look a bit livelier ?
  12. Still looking for suggestions for something to bring a bit of colour out from these Ta
  13. Not sure really, I season pretty much everything for two years so its pretty dry, not convinced leaving it exposed to rain will wash the resin out myself but maybe. Unfortunately dont have the space to leave stacks of wood drying exposed to the elements but its pretty dry, not had the issue with leylandii or cedar which can sometimes be a tad sticky.
  14. Would it be good for stumps with no access for a grinder then? And what happens when you hit a big lump of flint or the unavoidable piles of rubble the builers seem to bury in gardens round here?
  15. I have found that the few times I've burnt pine you can sometimes see the soot on the glass and floating about in the stove, not sure why it doesn't seem to happen with anything else. Lack of embers to keep it going overnight, more frequent loading and sticky hands are the only other issues I've had. Seems to season quicker than most hardwoods though and less ash to deal with.
  16. I'm such a dick .
  17. I removed these two bits of dw from a yew zonks ago and have been storing them ever since, I was thinking of getting a stand made up for them, putting some lights In and prob bringing the smaller piece indoors. Just wondered what people would suggest to bring the colour out a bit or wether anyone had a better suggestion for their use Ta
  18. First. Struggling on the first.
  19. Ta Dom. Celtis ausralis never seen that before. Still struggling on the third though def not robinia or sophora has very shaggy bark, very distinctive
  20. Waiting with baited breath here, got 3 in pieces.
  21. 3rd I think is the Ostrya carpinifolia, not convinced by the other suggestions though, thanks Anyone else?
  22. Not entirely convinced it's v.tinus btw. But could well be wrong
  23. Loved a bit of animal magic, was that at Bristol? The beginning of terry nutkins career too.
  24. 1st. 2nd 3rd All in a local park, I could prob get them if I bothered to get my books out but people like these games anyway.
