  1. I'd have thought the majority of it would be too knotty to go through a machine, I keep any knot free stuff for my own use but the sap is a pain on the hearth and even the hands when bringing it in
  2. I'm def itching to get a batch on the go again, I've got all sorts of bits in the cupboard that need using up, thinking about chilli and coke marinade to sweeten it up a tad. Just need to get a decent rack to hang it off, need some old oven shelves maybe
  3. Doesn't look too bad to me, shutting the oven door was prob the mistake. I guess a fan oven would be the best way to go. Isn't it supposed to be a bit leathery ? Gives yer jaw something to do. Did you cut down or across the grain?
  4. First lone a bit limey ?
  5. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/lounge/23767-jerky-3.html
  6. Fat free if possible as it goes rancid.
  7. I've done a few batches of beef, I generally just marinade with whatever's in the cupboard at the time but my fav was just sprinkling one side with brown sugar and the other with some chilli flakes. I freeze the meat to slice it easier, string up a load of strong fishing line in front of the stove to hang it off and leave for 12 hrs or so being careful not to cook it. Keep meaning to do another batch myself but haven't got round to it.
  8. He he. Preferred the old dumpy sacks stuffed inside other dumpy sacks idea myself, nuggets destroy em pretty quickly here, got loads already.
  9. How can it be lightweight and a tonne ?
  10. Through the house, ringing it all up, doesnt sound like fun for your labour. On the subject if informing the tree officer didnt someone mention on here you could end up getting sued by the owner?
  11. Nice to see the beech wasn't too far gone, I guess we caught it just in time. Funily enough the lump Jon couldnt fit on went to a firewood guy and he complained it was rotten. A few pics when it's converted further would be good to see.
  12. Could it be one of the ornamental apples?
  13. Na ! Can't see em here either
  14. Its a tricky one not sure tbh.
  15. We had some we used to put on top of greenhouses and sheds, they're ok untill they get wet and youve got to get them back on an overloaded transit. Now they are rotting on top of the containers with things growing out of them. I managed to scrounge some foam mats that are used under astro turf apparently and they seem better, they've currently got road pins skewered through them for stumpgrinder guards.
  16. Thought this was going to be abouth Gwyneth Sorry, Gwyneth Paltrow, but steaming your vagina is a bad idea | Life and style | The Guardian.
  17. Ha ha just me then No wonder mates are thin on the ground.
  18. It's the originals that would convince me.
  19. Are they thermal images or a drawing of thermal images ? bit hard to tell on the phone.
  20. I'd tell them to get a local contractor in. Def not with their dodgy kit
  21. Not convinced myself. My house was hot before I got the fan and it's still hot now Always wondered if there's proof they make a difference or it's just the manufacturers claims to sell them.
  22. Cryptomeria japonica 'elegans' surely?
  23. Ive never had a 020t or 200t as unreliable as these can't comment on the 201 mind. When we got them we had three main climbers each allocated their own saw and one as a back up this kind of went out the window as soon as the first one had the dodgy hose come off the carb, dont think weve had three runners since. One of our guys is a tad clumsy and on the few occasions I get up there I'm not the most subtle, but then again I'm used to a tougher saw.
  24. No idea why it stalls so frequently, I'm strictly an end user, if it breaks someone else fixes it. If the air filters even lightly dirty it's alot worse but still not good even if its clean. I was going to get two of each but the dealer who I've known for donkeys said go for the Huskies.
  25. We've got four huskies and it's a rare occurence that they're all running, I guess we've had em about a year and they've had all sorts of problems some operator fault and some because they're not really robust enough. I know people say clip em up and dont drag em about but I've not treated them any different to the stihls and they all survived. At the mo we've one without a bar cause it fell apart and one that stalls every time you finish a cut.
