  1. Guy I know buys imported stuff and it really is an excelent product, I gave him the no's of all the local suppliers and he buys them from this other company based in Scotland. I can only think its because its a far superior product all nice straight bone dry ash that basicaly comes in its own log store delivered straight onto his drive so no handling or stacking for him. All he has to do is split them a little bit more as they don't fit on his piddly little fire but he probably enjoys that bit tbh.
  2. Not too shabby, how does it compare to this First cake I've made for 25 odd yrs, supposed to be a hedgehog but looked better as a tortoise before I spiked her up.
  3. I guess it's better burnt in the stove than a bonfire any rate due to the secondary burn. Anyway I'm a hypocrite, should of seen the junk I got rid of on nov 5th💥😳
  4. Builder friend burns quite a lot of his waste and the only thing that caused his stove any problems was some varnished flooring that permanently stained the glass. Not sure I agree with burning any treated wood tbh, can't be good for the air my kids breath, surely working with trees people can get enough clean wood for themselves.
  5. Think they have ratings for different degrees of water resistance, no jacket should be described as waterproof as it's always going to get in the neck, arms and waist. I've just bought the Harkie smock and was still pretty wet after a morning of heavy rain recently Bit disappointed tbh
  6. I get the hire co to send a surveyor round and advise which machine is best.
  7. Nice work but you missed the bit where you take a running jump and stand triumphantly on the fallen stem. Or is that just me?
  8. Ha ha, bet you've got a cupboard full of freebies somewhere.
  9. Thanks 2yrs is pretty good if its not light use.
  10. Same pair ?
  11. Thanks to all involved especially Mr Bullman, I'm sure your time is precious but this must be a most rewarding way of spending it. Looking forward to getting my selection of carabinas, I've not had a selection before and the boys will get great satisfaction robbing them from my dusty harness and dragging them through the mud on the end of a tool strop. Thanks again.
  12. Can you not just keep one of these behind the seat? Stanley Multi Angle Hobby Vice Clamp 1-83-069 STA183069 Buyaparcel
  13. We still keep all our arb logs at the yard and need them clearing every now and then, its in kt19 and we're willing to pay if you're interested.
  14. While we're at it can anyone remind me how often my saw needs sharpening and exactly how long is a bit of string ? Never seem to get a straight answer.
  15. The nutribullet is kind of a high end blender I think takes the lot and turns it into a delicious nutricious drink. Wel thats what I hope, just ordered one.
  16. Isnt the difference between juicers and blenders the key here? Juicers leave the pulp etc behind but blenders like the nutribullet liquify evreything, whatever you chuck in it nuts, seeds etc.
  17. I've often wondered this but not for the burning but the splitting qualities. Obviously knot free but which are the species that pop apart ? Makes a big difference when using a froe.
  18. Had a definate example on sycamore friday, but chipped it I'm afraid. Regrowth on a previously hacked Tree.
  19. Just bought a set of hailo' after using skymasters for years and wish we'd gone for sky's again. The hailo's are far too heavy for my liking not looking forward to those long hedge jobs where your moving em every 10 mins, also a bit concerned the pedal that adjusts the foot may be a bit fragile
  20. I've been lucky enough to reduce one that had previously been topped, not big by any means but it had multiple stems at 15 ft or so and I had to get above them and bring it down a few feet. Of course it was all cut n chuck, made a man of me. (Cough)
  21. I think people should cut white noise a bit of slack for what may be a few missjudged comments in a time of stress or financial difficulty he may be in at the moment. Not taking sides and I don't know the fella but it would be a shame to see a member hounded out. Mark Bolams post seems to have been overlooked a tad here, I'm sure things would be different if discussed over a beer rather than in a few forum posts.
  22. Crikey!!
  23. Nice. How did that beech turn out Jon took down. Wasn't too soft?
  24. We use this lot http://www.landskills.co.uk
  25. A bit harsh I think. No ones so perfect they're immune from accidents.
