  6. pops and phone lines always annoy me, looks like a nice day for it too.
  7. Right so ive got jack booked in for a week of the 14th october. Come on guys dont be shy i think this is a great idea and jacks a good lad and a better climber than me so hes not at the bottom.
  8. haha i took a pic on that tree it had a date carved into the lower stem saying 1916 and an initial next to it. We've got to reduce a limb on the acacia which is 65ft high and completely covered in climbing rose. Tom can climb that one. p.s i thought id done a lovely reduction on that tree you posted.
  9. Todays site, working of one of the countires rarest Rhododendrons and 3 azaleas. Also on this site is a East Anglian Champion tree!!
  10. I didnt make the video, its one done by the broads authority and was sent as they made one of the project, i wouldnt let them film any of the felling works because they turned up with a mahoosive lack of ppe for my liking. The aerial shots might have been from the quadcopter Cater & Co own (the land owner) they use it to check the river they own for fallen trees, floating debris, livestock and other management things. Apparently even after buying the thing it saves a good few hours work and allows easy inspections pf extremely wet and boggy terrain. They wouldnt let me have a go though.
  11. Nice when you have a big bit of kit,
  12. As i said before im sure i can find you a couple of days to see cuddly animals, i mean snow leopards, no, no, no, i mean work.
  13. I thought id post this here because it wasnt so much to do with my other thread on it. So we produced a large quantity of alder poles for piling this video gives an overall view of what was done. Hope you enjoy it, [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1WCZ0JgXraw]Salhouse Spit Restoration update May 2013 - YouTube[/ame]
  14. Cheers Peter, definitely it although this one was only 45ft high.
  15. Brilliant! how would you rate it out of 10 in annoyance Vs Uk rain
  16. We took this tree down today. I think its some type of euc but it had a lemony smell. So im going with lemon smelling gum. if anyone knows if there is such a thing then please enlighten me as im really curious. I turned up with the chipper at 11:30 and the guys had most the crown stripped out, rear garden with many terraced levels i was just glad they were downhill with brash. Been using the new GM 19-28 and already im glad with the investment (cheers PeteB for taking the time to bring a few machines over for demo) Wipes the floor with the tw190 twin vortex we were using for the last 4 years.
  17. Soooooo....... Verdict on it now? Problems that keep cropping up, quality of build etc?
  18. I could of felled it between the fence, shed and greenhouse.
  19. Crikey, Was that the tree you, me and dexta climbed?
  20. Yep, Beacons, although i need to get some rear fitted on the transit to comply with nrswa.
  21. Give that guy a hand!! Oh hang on you did.
  22. I havent a clue how you've built it but looks good.
  23. I've owned all my gear until this coming week when i take finance out on a new chipper. Although id only needed to of put 10% down as a deposit i decided to put as much as i could for 2 simple reasons 1) reduce the monthly repayments down to a tw125 at 10% deposit 2) i could of only afforded at 150tw 2nd or 3rd hand and my last became problematic in a short time. So im now getting a Greenmech 19-28 which would of been out of my price range for a very longtime. Its really needs and musts but i prefer to not have finance because it can be a real problem if you have too much costs vs a slow down in work.
  24. cut tonnes of this stuff off a cliff top years ago, hated it and the thorns were top notch.... oh yeah and apparently you can turn the berries into a nice jam or something.
  25. I hold up a board with a circle and buffer percentage.
