  1. Oh Benn, im just going to make a video of it just for you. Probably just sent this in.
  2. That second one is quite eerie
  3. I have but mainly because my gut instinct told me not to trust the customer. I turned down a beech tree job because the risk of making a loss was too high on too many variables. Plus at the time i didnt have the capital for the road closure, crane and lorry hire.
  4. Beat me to it, this by far is the best time lapse tree work online imo.
  5. Hi Jack, Glad you've been having a go and it can take some time to switch from ddrt to srt. stick the lanyard over your shoulder, clip it in to give you a self tending ascent. If you have time and i mean a lot of time read the Rope Wrench feedback, SRT Q&A threads, they have a lot of info and a lot of help so when you encounter a problem you probably will have already read it on here. Welcome and enjoy.
  6. So why didnt you fell it in one benn? Id of or maybe set up a speedline off a window frame
  7. I think i would of cried taking that down with bad access Im glad you liked the article and grateful essential arb let me write it in a different style.
  8. Cheers Jon, Now ive developed the new spider film rig we should get some great off stem filming. I've only put a test video up for Jack Price to see it on youtube,
  9. just a 500gb imac, i do keep all my files on external drives so the computer can run at full power. This helps if your computer is running slow move the files out so its processor does less direct work.
  10. Hello, glad you like them. For starters if your posting to youtube a hero 2 is perfect, hero 3 is awesome but imo a hero 2 is plenty good enough. imovie or movie maker depending on what type comp you have. These are great places to start. I use final cut pro for the mac. Its movie grade (they edited the remake of true grit with it) I also use motion 5 and compressor 4. It pays to compress your movie before you upload it to youtube as it cuts its load time down a lot. Onto the camera a bit, get loads of extras, battery life is killer, i use the bacpak battery attachment, turn on and off between filming, keeps frames (film clips) short and many so when you edit its quick and easy rather then bladeing and trimming your way through 40mins of film. I use a 16gb card but have loads of them, make sure its a class 10 as this is the highest quality of sd card, card reader is also good and some sd cards have them a s a freebie as such. But most importantly have fun filming and editing. Hope this helps Ian

  22. I did this carving. Its no tommy tree carver (of which i never think i'll get within 10% of his skill)(if you dont know his work its well worth checking out the carving forum) im getting better, i did however nearly leave the mouth out and turn it into a gorilla face but decided it finish fully what id started. Opinions and any tips welcome if you think its a pile of rubbish dont be afraid to say and suggest how it could be better. Anyway heres the link Ian
  23. Personally a Harrison Rocket is the best. Ive used a throwpod a good number of times now and i personally think it bounces about too much off stems.
  24. Especially when its leynadii it was only 35yrs old too!!
  25. Normal days work for us, Easy when you can lower off large limbs. I think we did 15 larger lifts then about 40 cut and chuck limbs. Might have been a late one if we would of had to of taken the wood.
