  1. As the post says. I've got mine and it seems the only real way to secure it to my petzl vertex helmet is with the elastic band which seems a tad too big for the securing clamp/things? also the bike attachment seems to fit better but there is no way of fitting the elastic strap (and it too big in size for the gaps) through it? I know it has a c-clip clamp but have used clips like that before and being made of plastic they aint going to be the strongest against a twig/branch/ivy etc? So how have you secured yours to your hats? As i want to start filming but dont want to wreak a good camera.....
  2. :cursing:ok, ive looked and looked and cannot be bothered to continue looking through the tree pic gallery for it. :001_smile:BUT, it looked good:thumbup: hence why i asked the question, i would only reduce a pine by choice by 15% imo. I know some people would 'top it' and think its better for a tree by letting the light in that way. I was just seeing what peoples opinion on the matter was.
  3. Ok, well i've never reduced a pine tree in my time as a climber. Felled, deadwooded many, reduced the odd limb etc. I saw a picture on here but cannot find it again of a Scotts pine which had been completely reduced. Just wondering if anyone has done alot of reductions on pines? If so what kind of future managment do you recommend? And what lead you to decision, etc.
  4. Looks like a good base layer range, used to wear the canterbury stuff when i used to play rugby. but in recent years just kind of wore t-shirt and jumper. Notice any difference when wearing one and not? I may route through my draws to see if my old one is still alive.
  5. How did you get on with your new treeflex? im currently using a comet dragonfly but am looking to retire it?
  6. I bought a wever floating d version of the harness before i set-up myself, as a kind of a weekend job harness. Cheap and lasts! my comet dragonfly didn't last half as long. like someone said 'carthorse' It lasts and lasts and last etc.
  7. Cheers again, great action shot too.
  8. Doh! if only id gone one more page..... That makes alot of sense, speeds things up. I like the idea of it and for the reasonable cost of a few slings and a plate i may test it out next time i need to lower stuff. Thanks for getting back to me.
  9. just refering to your pics on page 3. The large rigging plate with all the strops, do you strop multiple branches during the crown removal? 1st time i've seen pics of a rigging plate not used in a speedline way? could you shed any more light on how you use it? just interested.
  10. Hi, From being in the industry for a while now it seems everywhere i go someones doing something different with their lowering equipment/technique. So do you use a portawrap and one pulley block? Drum pulley? Hobbs? GRCS? Speedlines etc, and any little tricks you have learnt from 'on the job' style? Also why do you like the system you use? Simple, controling, cheap, quick to setup. Just curious on how you get on with your system + keen to learn a few new problem solving tricks that may occur.
  11. Do you have 2 sets of spikes? if so one with long gaffs and one with short. Try the longs first if you hate them no worries just haul up the other pair and change over. I used long gaffs on a Dawn readwood and there fine don't get clogged up as easily as short ones.
  12. I work for Target Trees, mainly on the wroxham side of norwich. You?

  13. Just ordered mine. What a price for a camera too great value.
  14. Also has anyone been using the spiderjack - Any good?
  15. Ok, im thinking of starting to use a lockjack, i was wondering what rope/ropes work best with it? Reason for this is i have been told the Eldrid power static rope is the best for this? I don't know as i've never used it? Any help on this would be muchos appreciated.
  16. Just a couple of diff jobs on a sunny day.
