  1. Cool sounds good to me, can't wait to have a ganders at the photo's:thumbup:
  2. Thinking of buying one. Has anyone got one. If so are they good in your opinion? £547 upwards on price too.
  3. If they want to keep it? id suggest root barrier for the building side and then place a wooden prop to support the side away from the hole if possible at least if it moves a bit like its going to fall you've tried to stop it. Thats just my opinoin tho.
  4. My Dream Farm - 4oD - Channel 4
  5. When originally reading the thread discription i imagined a black bag coverd in diamonds just like Mr jacksons glove..... Oh well nice looking bag tho....
  6. Jee! i've never worked for anyone thats done any cooking on site THATS IT IM GOING TO GET ME A FRYING PAN FOR THE WOODS THINGS WILL CHANGE!!!!!!!
  7. That is a cool bit of kit!!!
  8. Good link:thumbup:
  9. Obviously its illegal to carry 'controlled waste' without a liscence (to which i have one) But when does the controlled waste become a sellable produce? As the waste carrier license says you must have a license for disposing of said waste . Reading through the guidence notes i didn't notice any requirement to have one if the produce you create is immediatly sellable? (not for me as i don't own a chipper) So does this mean if you sell your woodchip by dropping it off in the evening after leaving the site or delivering a load of firewood you would be classed as 'Exempt'?????? You could mix the rakings in too if you were sneaky:lol: But its just something that flew into my head when they sent me through the 'know your waste' booklet. Its £152 to have one so i would advise getting one. http://www.leeds.gov.uk/files/2006/week5/inter__24ecaa86-38f7-411f-a219-7fda5a288f59_6dbf1b95-ecd3-46fd-a64a-b017c91b6555.pdf Environment Agency - Register or renew as a waste carrier or broker
  10. I got the impression none of the could read or write:001_tt2: Jokes aside i assume thats why they have so many deaths per year as there not as safety wise as we are in europe.
  11. I predict soon we will have to do a risk assessment for doing a risk assessment:lol:
  12. Good point, but what about slip, trip and fall hazards?, rivers, they don't invole the tree parsay but should be identified within a risk assesssment?
  13. 40.2 cylinder dispacment! that's top of the class!
  14. Looks ok but parts would be the killer. I bought a makita top handle DCS3410TH and was told parts were only 24-48hrs to get to thier shop from the company i bought it from. Worked very well for a year then the carb broke! 4 months! to get a part sourced and to make it worse i tried 2 other dealers of chainsaws. I hope solo are better than makita. P.S i got a 200t in the end, clutch spring went, got it fixed within the hour.
  15. Doh was looking forward to doing that myself. But lets hope its as good or better
  16. If your thinking of doing a Pd course then i would recommend Dave dowson and Andy summerly at tree life training. I did the tech cert with them and found they were a wealth of knowledge! also the pre managment course i did with them was very, good and prob key to me passing my course. Home I know the course is expensive including buying all the books, surveying kit etc but if you budget whilst working and do the 1 day every 2 weeks then its very acheivable. Good luck on what you decide to do.
  17. Im just grateful someone invented the top handle saw! Imagine taking one of those bad boys up to do a reduction!
  18. Was looking through the links on the side bar and found this in the Gustharts website. Some old saws probably older than myself. https://www.gustharts.com/museum/
  19. If they've said that to you then that's......Weird. As said above its going to be used to rescue another person surely it should be in as good condition to use as a day to day piece of kit. I would go get it LOLERed somewhere else IMO.
  20. Wow I've been playing around with making benches but im not even half a percent close to this guy hes truly talented!
  21. Thats it im going to buy one just realized it has more than 1 application thinking about it, so order will be placed this weekend.
  22. Have you got one? How do you get on with it? quick to use?
  23. Watching a video on youtube the other day about the Fletcher Stewart and was wondering would you buy it or just use a different way to tension i.e with friction cord and a petzl pulley? At £55 its kind of got me thinking yay or nay if i would buy one in the future. Your thoughts?
  24. Bit of baler twine and you'll be fine:thumbdown:.......Mongoose crabs are good, well i like them, petzl treebee cambium saver is great i added a pulley in the mallion end to make it run smoother, harness has been said try whatever you can, rope depends on what size you like the feel of Yale xtc is always a good starter rope.
