    Its not usual to find a chipper hirer that will charge you hourly,its normally a daily rate,no matter what time you collect it/have it delivered,or when you're finished with it.

    Pal of mines got one 3 or 4 years old and he moans that he only gets 300 miles from £70 odd, and he dont thrash it.

    One of the first mods i did to mine was fill the tubes with green slime,a trolley with a puncture is unusable just when you want to be getting on.

    You're not wrong there Steve,a 'firewood merchant' local to me is putting corsican onto his processor and delivering it out,that i know for a fact was still growing 3 weeks ago.

    They had very low revs at tickover, i liked that.

    This could be the last year for a few of us. I was talking to one of the biggest,if not the biggest harvesting contractor in east anglia this week who is selling ash cord at £70 a ton rideside,and his opnion was that this will continue or rise come 2014.

    Instead of using my 460 all day i sometimes fire up the 660 for an hour or two just because i like using it,when its ticking over you can almost hear it saying sink me into some big wood.And when its cutting at full chat mine whistles like its got some sort of turbo on it. Picking up the 460 after running the 660 it feels like a little 260.

    I slip the 18" bar on for the bigger hardwood logs,turns an ordinary 660 into a bit of an animal.

    Sometimes see my youngsters running about but i tell them not to. There are enough hazards in this game without inviting trouble.

    My mates 55 plate defender is fairly mint and he often cant start it and he has his own key. Hope your mate gets his back though.

    Thats why some firewood boys dont sell dumpy bags, or builders bags.They dont sell it by the cubic metre,or by the ton. They do however advertise and sell it by 'the load' , nobody can argue that,least of all trading standards.

    How do you stand if you go out fully loaded and towing a full trailer,but come back empty with no trailer?

    So if your ranger or hilux is a 'goods vehicle' then that on its own is restricted to 50 on single carriageway,like Difflock's transit?

    So the way i see it,if you're in a ranger or hilux towing any trailer,dont go over 50 single carriageway,and 60 on dual or motorway. Is that right?
