  1. Heard about the thai bride that got stuck in the somerset floods? Had to be rescued when the water level reached her balls.
  2. Do they have to nag it to keep walking?
  3. Well carrying on with this theme, yesterday a local farmer had a massive 360 just pull over and rip up a line of mature ash trees and semi mature ones, then dug roots out.Looked like a ww1 photo. Piled up the lot into a massive heap ready for burning, today have been levelling to standard of a billiard table. No dieback,no rot, just few hundred tons of bonfire material. One tree in this line had gone over in gales and i asked him a fortnight ago if he wanted it cleared up and ide pay him for the timber,he simply said 'no' and walked away from me. That went on the heap too.
  4. Just remembered 2 or 3 years ago blocked down some poplars for one of the last desendents of a well known high street banking family, just before lunch time a kitchen maid danced out of the big house and came over to take our order for drinks, then 15 mins later out comes the butler in full regalia across the lawns to us with the drinks on a large circular silver serving tray.

  7. If you want to help yourself, theres about 25 ton up at my main yard, soon to have a few gallons of diesel poured over it and converted to ash.
  8. Yep,lads and i knocked some trees over that had to be done on a sunday last week, and the lady, who up to that point had seemed a right dragon, brought us out 4 bacon butties(as there were 4 of us) at 11,along with hot drinks n bickies. Changed my opinion of her there and then.

  16. A tip well worth knowing in the drinks department,is to always take the tray, and empty mugs/glasses back and knock on the door they came out of with a smile and a thankyou, rather than leave them down the bottom of the garden getting filled with sawdust all day. That way, the provider may make you some more later in the day, specially if you then say 'we normally stop at 12 for a drink and a sit down' or some such.
  17. Yep,kick back is the killer and someone new to top handled saws who has not been trained gets lulled into a false sense of security when using it one handed on the ground. Thats why they shouldnt be on e bay, to possibly maim the unwary purchaser, imho.
  18. Arthur has commented on a very serious issue that affects us all, there's no need for that mate.
  19. people that resort to stealing are well down the scum scale, but looting, well that should be punishable by death.
