  2. I still keep patching up my 200t's for fear of buying a 201t. When the time comes my next topper will be a 540t. I know a lot of good climbers, most very mild mannered and easy going, and with one voice their opinion on 201's is not repeatable on a family arb forum.
  3. Quoted to trim a connie hedge couple of weeks ago roadside in my own village, customer thought i was a little dear to his other quote, drove past it today and whoever done it looks like they used a knife and fork, talk about rough, but there we are. Phoned another potential customer when i got in at 6 tonight off my anserphone,a large silver birch wanting removed,he left the message at 11 this morning, when i started talking he stopped me and said it'd been done this afternoon.
  4. The thought of a serious slip up or accident with a running saw is horrific enough,so i'll skip looking at pictures of it if you dont mind friend.
  5. Eddie brings me back any uneaten ears from his hog roasts, mmm very tasty, very sweet.
  6. Done tree work and sold logs to a former high sheriff of northumberland who now lives hereabouts, if that cuts any ice with anybody.
  7. Just as an aside if i may,one of my young fellows stopped a police traffic car in its tracks for half a minute with a stop go board the other day. The signs weren't being used at that minute with traffic flowing freely, when i asked him what he thought he was doing, he simply said "they've stopped me enough times so i thought ide stop him." Youngsters nowadays,i dont know.
  8. Would you be interested in a large beech thats going to be dismantled soon Shendy?
  9. Yes thats what i was thinking Swinny.
  10. Seems a little on the low side for what you're doing, maybe time for a quiet word or three with your boss.
  11. Flippin heck Will.
  12. The favourite saying of most old school fallers i knew was : lets get out of this god forsaken place as soon as we can this afternoon, and get back home where its safe warm and dry.
  13. Playing to the camera - possibly. Skilled and experienced cutter - definately.
  14. As fit as i used to be.
  15. Ive used both a fair bit,and the forst is way ahead in so many ways.
  16. My eyes hurt.
  17. Heard about the thai bride that got stuck in the somerset floods? Had to be rescued when the water level reached her balls.
  18. And then some.
  19. Do they have to nag it to keep walking?
  20. Well carrying on with this theme, yesterday a local farmer had a massive 360 just pull over and rip up a line of mature ash trees and semi mature ones, then dug roots out.Looked like a ww1 photo. Piled up the lot into a massive heap ready for burning, today have been levelling to standard of a billiard table. No dieback,no rot, just few hundred tons of bonfire material. One tree in this line had gone over in gales and i asked him a fortnight ago if he wanted it cleared up and ide pay him for the timber,he simply said 'no' and walked away from me. That went on the heap too.
  21. Just remembered 2 or 3 years ago blocked down some poplars for one of the last desendents of a well known high street banking family, just before lunch time a kitchen maid danced out of the big house and came over to take our order for drinks, then 15 mins later out comes the butler in full regalia across the lawns to us with the drinks on a large circular silver serving tray.
  22. I think it is,didnt realise its been updated, has it now got a pink furry collar?
  23. Mines a couple or 3 years old now and is still waterproof, yes,a little gets under the cuffs but its still the best work jacket ive owned.
  24. If you want to help yourself, theres about 25 ton up at my main yard, soon to have a few gallons of diesel poured over it and converted to ash.
  25. Yep,lads and i knocked some trees over that had to be done on a sunday last week, and the lady, who up to that point had seemed a right dragon, brought us out 4 bacon butties(as there were 4 of us) at 11,along with hot drinks n bickies. Changed my opinion of her there and then.
