  1. My back suffered wear in middle age.Got a weightlifters belt i wear if doing a lot of heavy humping. Did have one of those elasticated velcro ones, but get on better with traditional buckle and 2 prong type.
  2. Reduced and sided up a manky old roadside hedge that hadnt seen a trimmer in 10 years. Worked nice and steady all morning with a few more sit down breaks in the shade than usual and finished early afternoon. Took my usual 2 bottles of 750ml water, but didnt drink it all.
  3. Mainly sporting, hadnt done skeet for yonks but returned to it recently as a warm up before a round of sporting and enjoy that too now.
  4. Lets all hope its going to be another cold winter.
  5. If someone nicked our hens mrs oldwoodcutter would be in a right flap. What a foul crime.
  6. A old cat died and went to heaven,God met her at the gates and said you've been a good cat, whatever you want just ask. Old cat said all my life ive slept on a cold barn floor, ide like a huge fluffy pillow.God smiled and immediatly gave her a pillow. Short while later 6 mice arrived after all being killed together in a accident,God met them and made the same offer. We've spent all our lives running away from cats and dogs and humans,if we could just have some tiny roller skates,we'd never have to run again.Consider it done, and they all had skates. After a week god checked on old cat,who was asleep on its soft pillow, woke her and asked how she was getting on,are you happy? Everything is wonderful the cat replied, those meals on wheels you've been sending over are absolutly delicious.
  7. In the next life ime coming back as mick jagger, and trouser the sort of money he got last night for a couple of hours work.
  8. Thanks TreePuncher, those made me laugh.
  9. All you need Butch is a van,a trailer, hedgecutter, mower and a half decent saw, advertise locally, and you'll never look back. Best of british mate.
  10. Nope,never wear one.
  11. If this helps, the lads i know in the grass game charge between £15 and £20 per hour to mow and strim, usually a fortnightly cut, they generally dont take grass away, and go at a nice steady pace all day. And 1 or 2 seem to have a better 'lifestyle' than me.
  12. mrs oldwoodcutter noticed a fat tick on one of her cats faces at the weekend. She handed me some tweezers out of her makeup bag,and i nipped the blighter out.
  13. Yes,ide agree with that, tall ones are great for high hedge work, but a little on the clumsy side for low hedges in small gardens.
  14. Looked like a nice little number mate.
  15. All the best Lumpit. When i hear my boys moaning about the wind,or rain,or the prospect of a rotten day,i always say that ive known a lot of people that would've liked to have seen it.
  16. "Just try to relax please while we remove it"
  17. Well i think you've just about put everyones minds at ease with that answer Mick.
  18. If you enjoy walking miles, you can make a good living at this time of year.
  19. My son in laws parents live in a council house, does that count?
  20. To some of the scum that live in our country, everything is just waiting to be stolen.
  21. My 460 is such a good all rounder i seldom leave home without it. The 660 is a close second but my muscels are getting too old to use it all day.
  22. Ive known them cut down a conifer out of a line,so they can nick someones forklift and drive it through the gap and out of the back of the yard. Little tinkers.
  23. None, nowadays old age is creeping up on me.
  24. I was behind you yesterday when you were towing it Ed,and i thought to myself i could do with one like that, although i probably wouldn't have as much weight on it as you had,or go that quickly with it lol.
  25. Went out pricing up after tea from massages off the phone, got back 8.15. Got a few days work from that,so makes it worthwhile. Hereabouts,if you leave a potential customer waiting days til you find time to go and see him,by the time you get there the job will have been done and the tree turned into firewood.
