  1. Anyone know who took the trees down at tadcaster river side for the temporary foot bridge to be sited across the river today
  2. more rain forecast tonight and to morrow then the cold weather coming in and the flood waters will freeze over what a pain, got a couple of barrows of logs in from the shed today it was squelching and paddling up under foot across the lawn I dared not do any more it was that bad
  3. you can get a electric one for not much more than that and a lot easier plus you can sell it when you get your pto one
  4. you want to see the river and floods 50 miles down stream you would need a hovercraft
  5. be carful you do not use (or similar) a name that is registered to a LTD company at companies house or you can be in bother and cost you money. a established design and erect decking firm with about 8 staff which I used to do some work for went to the ideal home thingy a week later there was solicitors letters arriving from a company down south threatening court action if they did not stop trading with the name after a month the office was shut down and the boss was trading under his own name and from home with reduced staff

I live about 5 miles up stream of tadcaster the bridge has been taking a battering lately with the water level so high and all the debris floating down (full trees) and forced under the bridge, years ago they used to dredge the river for sand and gravel there used to be a island just below the bridge but after a flood they removed it (about 40 years ago) in the village the other side of the river to me the farm house got water in it, first time since 1947 Johny I hope your yard is ok

  12. I am waiting for some 6ft yews to come they are not lifting them yet because of the warm weather

  15. in the first and second w/w we stood up and fight for our country not abandon it and flee to a country that will feed and home you for nothing and pay you cash and child benefits even when they are not in this country. makes my blood boil
  16. unless the law has changed in the last couple of years a tractor can tow 2 trailers un landed but only 1 landed when they used to tow a artic trailer with a dolly it is classed as 2 trailers

  20. watched country file tonight and in Somerset they are growing more than timber and apples, they are doing fields of poppies for medical use to extract morphine no doubt the new age travellers will be at them

  22. 9 inch for my stove anything bigger I struggle to get in
  23. my mate stopped milking about a month ago he was getting 18p a lt from the processors and collected every second day. the processors remove all the butterfat and put back the minimum amount for the type of milk you buy, also never got paid on time I do not know if Morrison's process there own milk even if they do it will not benefit all of the countries dairy farmers I still buy glass bottled milk from a local dairy farm door step delivery it costs 57p per pint after the last price increase I was debating whether to stop it and get it from the supermarket and said NO I will support my local dairy farm and my local milkman but it was a near thing when the supermarket was selling 2 lts for eighty odd pence
  24. grazon pro should do it and will not kill the grass but there is a prime time to spray for ragwort
  25. if you have already got a tower you can make a dolly base with pneumatic tyres to sit it on with a lock on device
