i would say it's an access point to the rear garden there is a gas boiler in there by the looks of it, a bedroom over the top. in the photo from the vehicle there is some garages up the end of the road -

they will just recommend getting a chartered surveyor, it might not be anything to do with the trees it might be substandard foundation's -
take it to the tip or hire an enclosed skip (otherwise it will be overflowing one morning)
