belated birthday wishes mate.

saw them on an episode of human planet once. from what i remember they only grow in one spot of the world. i'm sure there is some significance to its form and the way it collects/transports water, but may be confusing with another from that episode. either way a magnificent looking tree.

not sure on arizonica but it does with glabra.

is the chain sharp? a blunt chain will heat up and slacken. sorry if that sounds a little patronising.

#1 possibly a coastal red wood #2 a cypress but torn between what one (hinoki, monterey, smooth arizona????)

as others have said, a mixture of both is probably ideal but mostly the practical experiance. however only if the quality of the experiance is good ie working with a good and knowledgable crew and varied work.
