  1. oops!
  2. i didnt cut through one but riipped the mounting bracket and wire clean off the house.... does that count?
  3. looks good tom. i know nothing of dry walling other than theres alot more skill and knowledge involved than meets the eye, it must be like a heavy duty jigsaw puzzle.
  4. what can you do but laugh. ive seen in the past where supposed industry leaders print contradicting pictures, what hope indeed!
  5. what ever happened to the good old drive by ay?!
  6. looks good tractorboy, very smart. fencing was my trade before i moved over to arb and although its behind me i still enjoy looking at a tidy bit of fencing.
  7. good for you, you must be chuffed, may it long continue.
  8. i just want to put a quick word in to say a massive thank you to all who have contrbuted so far, both to those who have donated items and to those who have bid and also to mick who has given his time to organise and run the auction. me and my family greatly appreciate eveveryones invovement and want you to know that this really is a great help to us. once again thank you all.
  9. i heard it was shavings and wood chip:sneaky2:
  10. cheers for taking the time to post.
  11. i allready had that many patches on them that it was like wearing two pairs of trousers:blushing: mine were like the hi flex material, you only had to say sharp stick and a new hole would appear:laugh1:
  12. phew thats a relief justin, i was starting to sweat looking at the price mick found. especially as i dont think my last pair are salvageable!
  13. well done and good luck in your new career.
  14. what a terrible ordeal for this man and his colleagues to go through. lets hope that he makes the best possible recovery. i'm sure we can all put our hands up to doin something irresponsable at some time so lets show a little more empathy as the consequences of his actions, i'm sure, have allready been realised. no matter his failings noone can say he deserved this. good for his colleague who acted quickly in shutting down the chipper, and i hope this young man mends well. good luck and stay strong.
  15. with the adition of foam aswell as the filter and dust still getting are you sure the problem doesnt lie with the filter casing, maybe a crack or bad allignment leaving a gap?
  16. now thats some thought provking material, very good pete.
  17. i miight have to contest that tom, i used to get wire taughter using a hammer than i did with purpose built strainers.... but then i was allways very old school in some ways, and you just get used to the ways you know.... i used to be able to break concrete quicker and more efficiently with a bar than most of the others could with a breaker. its what works for the individual i suppose:001_smile:
  18. a great start to what could be a very captivating thread, i'll be watching with interest. great shots.
  19. nice thinking with the strainer. if theres 2 people, 1 to strain and one to staple, then levering the hammer off the side of a post is very affective and very quick. your way would be great for someone on their own. if i can find the pictures i'll post up my improvised post puller i fashioned up to remove a very stubborn snaped of post below ground level, concreted in the middle of a patio.
  20. does that hat offer side impact protection? posting use of a top handle on the ground! lol
  21. ian ive not looked through this thread before, dont know why not, so ive just trauled through it. really impresed mate, really lovely peices of work. i look forward to seeing more from you. i'm hoping to start doing some myself as i havent turned since i was at school, about 15 years ago. i picked up a little lathe last year but havent used it yet for lack of tools, can you recommend a budget starter set ie brand and type of blade shapes. cheers.
