    i'm home

its still a bit early to tell but they tell me that there are alot of things they can do if they need to, for example re-routing muscles. at the moment they are still working on closing the wound, only once theyve done that can they start to try and fix the bone. by what theyve said things like getting the leg functioning again will come after everything else has been taken care of.

    i'm home

well i promised you all an update and here it is:thumbup: after 6 1/2 weeks in the comfort of my hospital bed:sneaky2: ive been let home for a bit of rest bite. For those who this makes no sense to, check out the thread "stumpgrinder accident" i dont know exactly how long i'll be home for but possibly a couple of weeks. the plan is to go back to hospital around the end of november/ beginning of december to carry on with reconstruction. i got home yesterday (saturday) and it felt really strange but it is great being able to see my kids and spend time with them. .
  8. thats hilarious, ive just had a conversation with a machine!

    Hung tree

its not only the saw that can do you harm, there are many unexpected things that could go wrong here and whilst to the experienced cutter this looks to be a relatively straight forward and simple 5 minute job, i would strongly recommend that as a novice you do not attempt this.
  10. i heard mick beasted him so bad that he decided to take up a proffesion in a florests:sneaky2: seriously monkey i hope you sorted yourself out after loosing your gear, you had a lot of enthusiasm, it would be a shame to see you chuck it in.

    Hung tree

ive got to echo steves advice with this one mate. dont take it as a knock back, even the simplest looking hung trees can throw all sorts of surprises at you (metaphorically and literaly).
  12. sorry to hear that mate, good on you for the heads up. welcome to the forum.
  13. maybe you could add a little section in showing tests on ppe to demonstrate that it isnt a 100% guarentee to prevent injury. whilst some companys will have us believe that their product will absolutely protect and save you, we know that isnt allways the case. eg. a helmet might well do a very good job of protecting your head from a falling branch but it wont stop your neck from shooting out your a###hole, the same as we know trousers may slow or jam a saw but not nessaceraly before its reached your leg. this should hopefully eliminate some complaicency.
  14. fair enough mate, i can see your point and understand about overtraining but i do think a certain degree of conditioning comes into play with physical jobs like ours. i suppose though that if you have a strict fitness routine to follow then it could conflict with it to a degree depending on how strict and serious it is. obviously your training is the more important part of your lifestyle so is going to take priority.
  15. you must have been pretty bored when you started this one mick:sneaky2: i know weve spoke about this in person in the past and while i'll agree that on this thread youve come across as accusing people of scrounging and ponsing, i think from the conversation weve had in the past you dont acctually mean it like youve appeared to. the views i remember you expresing to me were that those who graft and do every thing they can to earn the bread for there familes are fully deserved of getting that little extra help if they need it, but the ones who have the oppurtunity to earn the crust but choose not to so that they qualify for certain benifits are the ones you have the problem with. if im right then i absolutely agree with that. its unfortunate that there is any need for such benefits to even exist but due to the state of our economy it is sometimes impossible for people to earn what they need no matter how hard they try. i've always said that my kids were my choice and i dont expect anyone to support them but until the cost of living and earnings are more realisticly balanced then i accept that i need the top up and can only hope that a time comes soon where the exitance of such benefits is no longer required.
  16. you couldnt make this stuff up, or have you? i felt like a silly little school boy sniggering while reading this. great way to grab peoples attention though. sorry for the derail.
  17. no you may not:001_tongue: seriously though what youve said makes perfect sense and i totaly agree with it. unfortunately what martyn was saying didnt make sense and to add to it he contradicted every statement he made.
  18. ah a primadona gym bod, well you seem to have taken this as a personal attack which it is not and i apologise for the derailment. i'm just intruiged as to how you came up with your theory. and for the record i am niether 10st nor a little weed.
  19. please re read your last post and then try explaining again without all the contradictions
  20. are you serious? what a load of rubbish. with comments like this it makes me question your aproach to training because it sounds like you are suggesting that to stay fit you must stick to one solitary type of physical excercise:confused1: what exactly do you base this FACT on?
  21. when you have to open the truck door to light up the clock!
  22. looked a good job mark, nice one. love the rc2000, i use one and think its great.
