    Hung tree

ive got to echo steves advice with this one mate. dont take it as a knock back, even the simplest looking hung trees can throw all sorts of surprises at you (metaphorically and literaly).
  2. sorry to hear that mate, good on you for the heads up. welcome to the forum.
  3. maybe you could add a little section in showing tests on ppe to demonstrate that it isnt a 100% guarentee to prevent injury. whilst some companys will have us believe that their product will absolutely protect and save you, we know that isnt allways the case. eg. a helmet might well do a very good job of protecting your head from a falling branch but it wont stop your neck from shooting out your a###hole, the same as we know trousers may slow or jam a saw but not nessaceraly before its reached your leg. this should hopefully eliminate some complaicency.
  4. fair enough mate, i can see your point and understand about overtraining but i do think a certain degree of conditioning comes into play with physical jobs like ours. i suppose though that if you have a strict fitness routine to follow then it could conflict with it to a degree depending on how strict and serious it is. obviously your training is the more important part of your lifestyle so is going to take priority.
  5. you must have been pretty bored when you started this one mick:sneaky2: i know weve spoke about this in person in the past and while i'll agree that on this thread youve come across as accusing people of scrounging and ponsing, i think from the conversation weve had in the past you dont acctually mean it like youve appeared to. the views i remember you expresing to me were that those who graft and do every thing they can to earn the bread for there familes are fully deserved of getting that little extra help if they need it, but the ones who have the oppurtunity to earn the crust but choose not to so that they qualify for certain benifits are the ones you have the problem with. if im right then i absolutely agree with that. its unfortunate that there is any need for such benefits to even exist but due to the state of our economy it is sometimes impossible for people to earn what they need no matter how hard they try. i've always said that my kids were my choice and i dont expect anyone to support them but until the cost of living and earnings are more realisticly balanced then i accept that i need the top up and can only hope that a time comes soon where the exitance of such benefits is no longer required.
  6. you couldnt make this stuff up, or have you? i felt like a silly little school boy sniggering while reading this. great way to grab peoples attention though. sorry for the derail.
  7. no you may not:001_tongue: seriously though what youve said makes perfect sense and i totaly agree with it. unfortunately what martyn was saying didnt make sense and to add to it he contradicted every statement he made.
  8. ah a primadona gym bod, well you seem to have taken this as a personal attack which it is not and i apologise for the derailment. i'm just intruiged as to how you came up with your theory. and for the record i am niether 10st nor a little weed.
  9. please re read your last post and then try explaining again without all the contradictions
  10. are you serious? what a load of rubbish. with comments like this it makes me question your aproach to training because it sounds like you are suggesting that to stay fit you must stick to one solitary type of physical excercise:confused1: what exactly do you base this FACT on?
  11. when you have to open the truck door to light up the clock!
  12. sorry to hear that.
  13. looked a good job mark, nice one. love the rc2000, i use one and think its great.
  14. still in hospital steve, starting to feel like part of the furniture now:biggrin: mullshillfarm, advice taken on board mate thanks. at the moment i have a very limited exercise pattern however i am able to get about on crutches now. as soon as they are able to give me more to do trust me i'll be doing it with absolute conviction:thumbup1:
  15. someone better let plippy know he left his ladders on site again.
  16. wow, apollogies for not seeing this earlier. i dont quite know what to say. thank you very much everyone, i sincerely am grateful to all of you for your on going support. sorry i havent posted in a while. things have halted a little at the moment as there have been some complications but i'm pleased to tell you i'm making good progress and the doctors are still sounding positive. i plan to give you a better update in the next couple of days as we are awaiting some results that will give us a clearer picture of what the next steps are to be. thank you all once again. dave
  17. ooh erh missus. nice find, any ideas?
  18. i like the idea rich, bet the boy enjoyed that.
  19. amazingly brilliant as always, keep up the great work.
  20. littletree, ive not read all the posts to your thread but i'm sure i echo everyones sentiments when i say how sorry i am to hear your sad news and my thoughts are with you and your family right now. the amazing community we have here at arbtalk is as good as family and i speak from experiance when i say you can fall back on us and rely on our support. dont feel you have to go through this alone we,re only a thread away. keep thinking of those good times, i'm sure there were plenty. all the best, dave.
  21. good luck with whatever you decide.
  22. haha classic! at least it will cut on the forward and back stroke now!
  23. haha, ive definately got too much time to think up these crazy ideas! funny you should mention the river, a canal boat just went down it.( something different!) back to the fungi, it will be interesting to hear peoples theorys on "misplaced fungi".
  24. now my knowledge of fungi id and bio mechanics leaves plenty to be desired but i'd like to throw a little something out there. i was looking at how the pholiota is growing out of that union and it got me thinking...... is it possible that as dirt and compost has collected in the union, could the stem have started throwing out little roots into this, thus the pholiota being up that high feeding off the new root system? if that makes sense! by the way, nice thread dave. i feel this could spark some pretty interesting conversation:thumbup1:
  25. haha love it!
