  1. wish him a speedy recovery. all things considered hes probably had a very lucky escape.
  2. i had a load of these in my garden but i couldnt tell you what they are, sorry. probably best not to try tasting them though! lol
  3. going to sleep now, will keep you all posted. thanks again, dave.
  4. thank you huck, very kind words. while i feel a little modest to comment, you are right and i think it is important to stay focused and strong. for the sake of myself and my family i am determined to stay strong no matter what the outcome of this accident is to be. i constantly notice robert s signature on here (he who fears he will suffer, already suffers from his fear), it stands out because i have believed this same sentiment myself for years, and i think this applies in many ways right now.
  5. youre right steve and i done exactlly the same, we'll put it down to being busy and cold:biggrin:
  6. absolutely steve. had a feeling that would attract your attention, lol. would have spoke to you first anyway. hopefully it will serve as education to others and help stop something like this happening again. dont want people to think this is being done in a nuts/zoo magazine style way, i just believe a picture speeks a thousand words and hope everyone can take something positive from this.
  7. not the worst joke ive heard these past few days:sneaky2: examples like shake a leg and stand strong spring to mind. dont worry ive been getting plenty of abuse. as for nurses lets just say my missus looks on here and she'd kill me and right now i dont think i would do too good a job of out running her:001_tongue: but as far as pictures go i do have some of the gory graphic variety for the blood lusters of you out there (now watch the posts go crazy!) dave
  8. thanks again everyone. got back down to surgery today for exploration and another clean out and a different type of dressing that connects to a vac pac. however the dressing was un succesful and they had to re dress with a normal dressing back on the ward. it did though give me an oppertunity to re look at the wound and it does look a lot cleaner and tidier than it had looked when it first happened.... though still not exactly pretty! due back in surgery in a couple of days they said. many thanks again guys, dave.
  9. is he taking the mick? tell him the next one he shoots down in the stream HE can FETCH!
  10. hello fellas. im laying here trying to think what to say in reply to all the lovely well wishes, and truth is im a bit speechless. im overwhelmed by how much support ive been getting from both people i know and from people ive never even met. i want to thank all of you who have contacted my wife and left messages for me on facebook and here. what an amazing little comunity we have here at arbtalk.
  11. but yet its wrong to drown a rat? next youll be telling us how you used to bite the heads off of live squirrels. what a wrong'un:001_tt2:
  12. no mick they were trying to wave you down, as philip had just sneaked in and raided their fridge!
  13. ringtone - big bopper: chantilly lace text - beep beep.... beep beep alarm - eric clapton: layla
  14. nice to see youre doing your bit for the community mick:sneaky2:
  15. agreed, with the addition of a basic harness (maybe a rock climbing harness), or just a sling.
  16. if id thought about it then i could have lifted the (branch) collar to see if this one had a name tag!
  17. possibly saw one the other day. me and 2 other coleagues spent our break trying to decide if it was a foxglove or catalpa as they are virtually identical all but a few subtle differences. the tree had traits of both but not all traits of one? hybrid?
  18. i like it, your idea or customers spec?
