9. Hi all, A few of our larger customers have, over the last year or so, asked if can do tree surveys. We've always passed them over to a guy we know (get a meal once a year for the service Apart from the NPTC 1 day, and 5 day courses, whats everyones idea of a training route for me to be able to offer the service. One of the larger theme parks we do has over 500 trees on its site, be a nice little earner me thinks. We give advise at the moment, but its never written down, and i always stress to the clients that its just my opinion, based on my experience. Thanks, Dave

 17. Just coming upto 2 year on mine and they're about knackered. Best boots available IMO
 18. Our hopper side bearing went on the A530. A local engineering company owed me a big favour so went to them. The bearing housing is flame cut steel, not cast, so they sourced me new innards for a fraction of the price of a complete new bearing. Took the machine in on a Friday morning, i went up to Pontefract for the new insides, picked the chipper up at 8pm Friday night. Total price, including fitting was £80 ( like i said, they owed me a favour). I even gave the fitter £20 for his trouble
 19. Can highly recomend Rob D on here. top chap use a 30" mill on one of our 880's, should have bitten the bullet and bought a bigger one.
 20.

Hi,

the ammount varies per bag.

i'd think you'll get around 25 nets per bag but you'd have to try it.

I sell my nets for £2-50 to retail outlets (min order 50 nets)and £4-00 (3 for £10) to customers.

Hope this helps, Dave

 21. I personally never wear chainsaw gloves. The old hide stihl ones were positively deadly when wet, used to struggle to hold a ground saw steady. Use the £1-00 a pair rubberised ones, new pair roughly every week. Keep two or three pairs of the new stihl one in the trucks for any of the lads who want them, but TBH they hardly get used. Use gel padded cycling gloves for climbing, used to have a pair of neoprene sailing gloves which were perfect, but can't remember where I got them from benefits of old age Sent from bed using Arbtalk Mobile App
 22. Had some in a hired, car sized van stop last year offering Stihl MS441's at £250 each. Told the Oirish gent i'd have all he'd got at that money. As he was getting one out i got the one i'd just got from Justin out..... Suffice to say they wern't quite the same.. He too drove off giving me a load of abuse as we were rolling on the floor with laughter
 23. We felled some badly leaning willows into the river Trent last year (more to do this year) Only one person working waterside at one time, harnessed up with a lifeline to two lads on safe ground. Where we could i roped into any safe, overhanging trees. Make sure any saws attached to you are on short strops to avoid them going in the drink
 24. Only 5 miles from gainsbro' one of the EA guys rang me to let me know it had gone.. Sleeping VERY lightly ATM
