  4. thanks guys. the customer brought her "horticultural society" tree book over yesterday. it says light prune in late spring, so i'll do it then. best bit is she's still paid me for doing the lot, n has told me to come n do the conny's again then as well. jackpot

  7. no rupe, only swb. the back i've got on is 10', the new one is 8'-6" yeah 18" isnt that much, but it'll fit the saws, climbing kits, strimmers, n hedge cutters in. thats all i need

  9. the back i've got on at the minute is as rotten as a pig, and looks like the gypeys have thrown it away. but hey ho we've got to start somewhere
  10. il'll alter it so the sides can come down while the upper half stays in place

  14. hi, just located a new tipper back for my ldv (pikey bus). gone for an 8'6" one to replace my 10'er. now need a toolbox to go between the cab and tipper bed. ideally i'd like one with shutter doors on each side to allow for easy access. don't know where to buy one from, anyone got any ideas??? tried putting "truck tool box" into the search engine but all i get are sites selling ones for 4x4 pickups any help'd much appreciated. thanks dave
  15. hi gtm. what do these harnesses retail at. just done 8 hrs of conny hedge trimming n my shoulders feel like i've lifted a truck or two
  16. hi mr ed. did a few years on the railway with h w martin, then moved to freedom. crap work but decent money when you got the right jobs and right team. not paid for neatness or technicality, just mileage.
  17. hi all, been cutting trees for about 10 yrs now. just come out of rail and utility sectors to start up on my own. already fed up of conny hedges. good site. like the banter
  18. hi, just joined the site, so if i make a mess of things, someone let me know. just setting myself up, as i've just been made redundant from a large utility tree firm. spent all my hard earned on the van n chipper but i'm getting swamped with logs. cut the easy ones with a splitting maul but struggling with the gnarly ones. just spotted a splitting cone on ebay for £60, just needs a motor attaching and a table making. i know a tame fitter who can make me a table for nowt, but does anyone know what sort of speed the cone needs to turn. been on hycracks website and your looking at about £1300 for a 240v table model.
