  4. cheers guys, i'd love an i phone ( sucker for gadgets) but was concerned about durability, given our industries ability to bugger just about any machinery, but oyur comments have reassured me....a bit nokia also do a 'tuff' phone i think its the 3720? not 100%, but was told all the comercials of people swimming with the phone, dropping it, etc were mock ups and nokia refuse to guarentee it for most things.... as for the landrover phone.. havn't seen that. i'll have to have a look. only had about 12 landys in me time ( aint found one thats comfy yet tho') i was thinking, if i buy a phone now: 1. i can have PICTURES again ( the old nokia i've got aint got a camera) 2. internet for rainy days 3. i aint got to wait 6 months for the above 4. when june comes i can negotiate a sim only deal from orange..loads more minutes loads less cash  do like the looks of the iphone tho'

  12. this time of year, with work being hard to come by £400-00 pd seems a good price. its ok saying the groundie wants 80/100 per day....what about holiday pay, n.i. contributions etc.

  14. just been out with my two kids, two cousins, and 2 mates of my son. disco bonnet towed behind the quad. ace. the two mates didn't have a coat or decent pair of boots between em. makes u wonder. had a mass snowball fight in the village last night, about 15 adults and about 20 teenagers. had about 8" last night n woke up this morning to another 4" on top of that. the village is chaos. no milk or bread in the shop
  15. sorry my fault for not being clear enough. its a stihl polesaw HL75 ( i think ). about 10' long. everything goes in the container at night. just thinking about when i have to leave the van during the day. got a roof rack to fit, so it'll go on that with a padlock thru the harness eye. not ideal but it'll do for now
  16. set off this morning to do a small domestic job about 20 miles away. 3 ash to fell n a piece of garden to clear for an extension. had about 2" round our yard, so i thought... it'll be ok got to Bawtry where we were working and they've got 6" and still coming. when we'd done the job ( 'bout half twelve) there was about 8" had to leave the chipper off the trailer to get up the slight hill out of the estate, but once we were secure and rolling it was a doddle. Retford was snarled up so took to the back lanes, the LDV pikey bus, with nearly 2 ton of log n chip on, plus 1.5 ton of jensen and trailer coped brilliantly. told the lads we'll have an UNPAID holiday tomorrow... PMSL
  17. if he'll travel to gods own county, i'll give him £30 a day lol

  19. hi all, a happy and prosperous new year to all. had a box fitted behind the cab of the pikey bus over the break, and can now fit most of my gear inside however, what do all you tranny / ldv/ etc owners do with the pole saw at present i'm putting it on the back, buts its not secure, and it'll get damaged sooner rather than later thanks for your help dave i'll put some pics on soon lol
  20. sorry i'm from wrong side of hills ( yorkshire ) but if there's trees, guns, n alcohol.......i'm in
  21. just set up n price was an issue ( spent too much on my chipper) LDV, brilliant. just done a site clearence and managed to get it into the customers back yard. got a normal tipper, ran that for a while then bought a crewcab back n had a box made for the gear. Although the chip box is smaller, when its full i'm overweight. lol. when cash allows i'll upgrade to a crewcab transit, rack the rear section out n get a posh allly back made would like a cabstar for its size, a 7.5 tonner for its capacity and a mog for the fun factor, would also like to win the lottery, about as much chance of any. lol

  23. £28-00 !!!!!!!!! how many more does he want Rupe??
  24. on the domestic side of things. most people think we're pikeys fly tippers cowboys in general. when i first started on my own i just had the mobile No. on my advertising. As soon as i put my home No. on the call rate doubled. I used to ask a few customers, where'd they got my No. from, why me etc. most of them said they would'nt touch an arborist firm if there wasn't a landline as they probably were gypsies!!
  25. he's no good. the pikey bus's arse end is another foot higher lol
