  1. NOOOOO I was going to buy a new dmax then drove the disco 4 and fell in love with it. But we are getting divorced this week so will be keeping and open mind.
  2. If I sell my disco 4 commercial in the next week or two I will give one a go on your personal recommendation but I did say to the dealer I would not buy another Ford while I had a hole in my bottom I noticed they have not sent me any leaflets in the last 15 years so probably glad to see the back of me as will the Landrover dealer soon.
  3. I can get top quality blades inc frame for 80p ea
  4. I think its a bit of a personal choice luckily not everyone wants the same thing. Personally I had such a rough ride with a new transit and after service I will never have another Ford so That would be on the bottom of the list. I am a big fan of Toyota because I have found them bomb proof But I am not blinkered into thinking they still are. The dmax ticks the big 3500kg tow box but I would want a cast iron assurance that they have cracked the fuel dillution problem before I spent 20k on a new vehicle.
  5. Seem to remember the best ones were made by Parasourse or similar name they make them for the services so good units but a small one will set you back £200 I think you need 3 rd generation Leds.
  6. I have a shelf full of all different brand new blades wipac, champion, bosch tried them all dont bother with any of them. Get a set of tp see if I am wrong I do 70,000 miles a year between 3 vehicles. The vito was fitted with new blades by the dealer before we bought it at £40 a set could not see out tonight will be in the bin and £8 set of tp on soon
  7. Its only the latest models that have dpf the older Rodeo never had them. My Toyota dealer was awful and the hilux Mk 5 was slower and 3k more than the navara. But the Navara was dead 10 years ago but I have a feeling I would still have the Toyota . I even had one on lease for 3 months with 100k on the clock and loved it while I waited for the disaster Nissan to be delivered. There must be a good Toyota dealer out there.
  8. Go on ebay and search for hilux there are several companies advertising them. Does the Toyota price incl vat ? £17500.00 + vat = £21500.00 you should be able to get at least 10% off that price at the dealers. Who is your local dealer
  9. I use tp or trust parts in the red packet. Complete assy about £2 a blade came top in auto mags for performance last forever dont judder blur or squeek job done. Best to change blades every 6 months otherwise they pick up grit and scratch the screen.
  10. The Hilux is no longer as indestructible but still probably the best by some margin. I have seen new hilux single for 14k and double for 16k You should be able to get a digi tacho supplied and fitted for £1200 the law has been around since 1997 The d max is a good vehicle but the latest ones have had lots of problems with dpf regeneration causing the engine oil level to rise and blow engine. As treefrog said if you need to tow 3500kg its got to be the dmax
  11. A log flying out of a 13 tonne splitter hurts the nads more than a 7 tonne. If its that tough it goes on the open fire
  12. The only thing to watch is you could get a bit more attention from vosa when towing as you cant really say its private. I used a written cover on our old d2 its a good way to advertise without fading the body work.
  13. My customers used to love the barrow bags they found I could get through the gate across the Patio. Down the garden through the paddock over the rotten bridge across the muddy field up the mountain and then stack them. I like the tipper
  14. I know someone with one of these and they seem happy with theirs. They deliver loose in tipper as far as I know. There may be a knack to getting the net off and I think they have a teleporter which may be the key.
  15. More frost = less slugs more wind = more generator sales
  16. I can see your point. I was looking at a poo picker on ebay the title said it was for the cover but the listing and pics were of the machine then at the end it said see other auction for the machine. The other auction did not excist I messaged the seller who said he had not listed it yet. FFS you can imagine what a messer he would be if you tried to bid and collect.
  17. We can supply kindling from Andover Hampshire. 500 will weigh about 2 tonnes if you would like to collect with van and trailer. If you are interested I will need to check with wife I know she has sold a few thousand this week.
  18. I looked into it and found I could buy it in for exactly what it cost me to produce. 1. I could not sell what I produced for a profit so no point. 2. You dont have as much control over quality I would imagine it starts of well. 3. There is always the chance of handing over money and seeing nothing. 4. the locally sourced green advantages people like, go out the window
  19. I have always paid something for my logs. If someone drops of a tonne or three least you can do is bung them £30 for a couple of kfc. Your average wood fairy seems to be a civil servant in a 40k car and a good pension why give them any more hand outs. you could be damaging someones living to help out a banker most blokes who do logs I am sure would collect a few cheap ifor Tipper loads to help out every ones a winner.
  20. Have a chat with the other chap if its a negative meeting start up another business and have some fun with the old name. Pull some fast ones on previous bad customers and blame it on him.
  21. We are in the test valley full of well off people but prices are low and I would suspect lots are retired so could be. The rich dont get rich by spending it.
  22. I found a company 2 miles down the road that spent 100k on their kit. I bought 20kg bags for £2.75 ea and added a £1. They were low sellers so I figured crap stuff made in a cheap machine would be a waste of time. People want Beech logs round here.
  23. I have been burning some 18 month seasoned pop on the wood burner tonight and it burns with a nice bright flame from start to finish and leaves more of a bottom in the stove than the pine we have. Cant see it burning any quicker than the beech we have so far impressed. I found its best to get it done with pop and not leave it hanging around for a couple of years.
  24. When you heap the load you give away nearly 20% I used to make my bodies high and narrow for access also less margin for error when heaped.
  25. I need to try this stuff in my Disco 4 this time next year I will be a millyanaire rodders.
