I have noticed in recent years new power tools often give off I am burning out type smells for the first hour or so. On the other hand they could just be Chinese crap. Did that wound come from a thin inox type cutting disc. Those discs are brilliant but if they bite they can do some serious damage.

I had a new canter on demo a few weeks ago I thought great truck and the ride is very good now the front suspension is independent. The only problem for us is 130 hp is not quite enough to drag this lot.

We gave up logs and concentrated on making kindling. It's still a side line to us but we have made it very efficient. Even so the margins are very tight. The single phase kindlet is fast enough for two people as long as the wood does not jam. Unless you are going to make at least 20,000 bags a year I would just buy it in.

I have a good ifor Williams trailer load can load with tele handler. All 2-3ft butts about 8ft long in Andover hants. Take the lot for a drink. Been down about 2-3 years and the bark has just fallen off.

Check the levels the fuel filter and air filter. After that get a diagnostic it could be something simple like a crankshaft sensor.

Dug this old thread up because we have a new one on demo. I would imagine things have come on a bit and for a 3500 kg truck with train weight of 7000 kg they seem a good deal. Anybody had more recent experience.

The dealer changed the turbo actuator without lifting the body but it's tight and took a couple of hours. The local independent has made tools to change the turbo and change the belts. You can get to everything on the 4.2 Amazon and if the belts did ever snap they miss and are a safe engine.

The 3 year old disco was great to drive. But the 17 year old land crusier was doing all the work while the disco spent it's life at the dealers. In 12 years the Amazon has been faultless. And for the age it's still a nice vehicle and it's still here.

I sold a four year old disco four about a year ago. With out doubt one of the best 4x4 to drive but built from junk a complete disaster had nine discos over 20"years won't touch another LR product now. I love the old discos can't believe how bad the ford effort was.

There are loads of reasons for trailer snaking. After towing for nearly 30 years if I am not happy with the outfit at 30 mph then it's not going to get better and needs sorting. Most loads can be repositioned on the side of the road with the help of a 5 tonne ratchet strap. I don't think I would ever try accelerating out of a snake and tend to hold tight to the steering and let off the throttle and let the speed fall away.

The kindlet is a touch too fast for one and too slow for 2. We average 25 bags with one operator and 40 with 2.

If u live in a hard water area u may find a rad flush a waste of time because once blocked the flush can't get to the chalk and it needs a recore. Try pouring water in the top of the rad if it sits and takes its time. The other thing I have done is gently push a thin rod down the water ways from the filler neck often the rod will stop after an inch or so.

With a cracked head it was probably down on power so with a bit of a rebuild and service you may be surprised. From my experience the heads are more likely to crack if the engine has been modified / chipped . The td5 sounds like it is being thrashed but that engine loves revving even if it sounds a bit harsh very little power below 2000 rpm. If you want a four litre lump in a 4x4 go four an Amazon they are designed to carry the weight up front.

If you have a mate in the same game but not vat registered or a friendly rival team up with them. You help him with domestic work and pass him the enquires. You get the commercial work and pay him for the days.
