  1. Anything I like she popped out in March not seen her since
  2. True they would have found a nice spot and laid a beach towel out
  3. I had a single cab hilux tipper but once the body is on I have dumped my car 80 kg carcase in we only had 400 kg for the load. If I had the time again I would put two dumpy bags on and roll them of so they land upside down.
  4. Need to change my amazon and not paying 15k for a 12 year old car. Anyone owned used or had one on demo. The mpg worries me they seem to get 15 to 20
  5. A normal sane person would ask you to quote. Not go on the attack for a price you have not even given yet. Go round there if he has chips on both shoulders walk away life is too short to waste time on Narks.
  6. Thanks for all the advice. I will check the volt drop but it does have an oversized cable from the dis board but we are out in the sticks and the supply to the property is not great. I think it could be a combination of 7 year old cap hot weather and new people using the machine. I am teaching them to jump straight on the emergency stop if it blocks. I have not dug into the motor circuits yet but it appears to have a start and a run capacitor.
  7. Anyone else had this. Is it a regular consumable part we should keep as a spare. Does it indicate the begining of the end for the motor and pump ? Any one found a good supplier it's fairly large at 70 uf
  8. We used a fire lighter snapped in half . Light walk away always come back to a healthy fire.

The way I look at vehicles is if someone has taken the time to design and build something it's always worth a closer look to see if it would suit my needs. As they say the proof is in the pudding.
  10. Good stocks of top quality bone dry kindling available all year.
  11. The ones I owned carried 700 kg legally.
  12. I have a new dmax on hire at the moment the Amazon has finally given up.
  13. Hi Chris We have someone supply us in 100x100x100 vented bags we get 45 bags of kindling and pay 50 p per net. It's just about worth them making it and just about worth us buying it.
  14. If I have to tow and there is not much weight in the tipper/flat bed I prefer a double axle because there is a bit more weight to hold the back end down also they seem to have a bit more stability. I also think singles are capable on 3500 kg vans but twin axles seem to give you a bit more margin and longer life.
  15. I bought a new one and found a lot of spring in the chassis when towing. I stuck my finger in the chassis and found it paper thin compared to hilux and defender. Had a few niggles with it and sold it at 2 years old never managed to snap it in half.
  16. I have noticed in recent years new power tools often give off I am burning out type smells for the first hour or so. On the other hand they could just be Chinese crap. Did that wound come from a thin inox type cutting disc. Those discs are brilliant but if they bite they can do some serious damage.
  17. I had a new canter on demo a few weeks ago I thought great truck and the ride is very good now the front suspension is independent. The only problem for us is 130 hp is not quite enough to drag this lot.
  18. We gave up logs and concentrated on making kindling. It's still a side line to us but we have made it very efficient. Even so the margins are very tight. The single phase kindlet is fast enough for two people as long as the wood does not jam. Unless you are going to make at least 20,000 bags a year I would just buy it in.
  19. I have a good ifor Williams trailer load can load with tele handler. All 2-3ft butts about 8ft long in Andover hants. Take the lot for a drink. Been down about 2-3 years and the bark has just fallen off.
  20. Check the levels the fuel filter and air filter. After that get a diagnostic it could be something simple like a crankshaft sensor.
  21. My fridge is covered in magnetic business cards I found in a phone box. Do you know Lucy Morals 😀
  22. Never really mastered the fine art of stacking and securing. What size pallets do you use ?
  23. Dug this old thread up because we have a new one on demo. I would imagine things have come on a bit and for a 3500 kg truck with train weight of 7000 kg they seem a good deal. Anybody had more recent experience.
  24. The dealer changed the turbo actuator without lifting the body but it's tight and took a couple of hours. The local independent has made tools to change the turbo and change the belts. You can get to everything on the 4.2 Amazon and if the belts did ever snap they miss and are a safe engine.
