    I had a medial meniscus tear and had keyhole surgery. The person collecting me forgot to bring a wheel chair up so l walked the half mile on crutches. I was driving the next day but it was the right knee so no clutch work. Climbing trees and in out of machines no chance for a week or two but did everything else. Recovering from the op will probably give you less grief that what you are coping with now. Watch the doc does not sign you off work otherwise your insurance is invalid.

    I slipped some car coil springs over the bump stops on our hilux tipper. They worked a treat did very little when empty but came into there own when the truck sat down. Your air shocks could be piped into the cab and charged with a small 12 v compressor.

    I test drove a few. The only one that would prise me away from my now very ageing Amazon was the amorok. But we tow 3.5 tonne lots and sometimes along way. 2.0 litre engine put me off. The truck was head and shoulders above the rest to drive and pulled like a train. With the new v6 engine it must be even better.

    I had a demo l200 on a 52 plate and could not understand why anyone would buy one. Even in those days servicing was every 3500 miles. They have not appealed to me since although maybe I should give them a chance. A new shogun suits my needs and budget but I read so many bad reviews on line they scared me off.

    When u say huge do you mean rear seats have plenty of space and head room. Or do you mean it's a big chunk to park , drive and live with.

    I get hay fever although this year so far very mild. Hay fever brings a touch of asthma. But what really brings on shocking asthma is dogs or rabbits jumping over me that have been laying in hay. Damp or any sort of wood rot in the house and I am up the hospital on a nebuliser. Not had a problem for a few years at all. The other thing that can kick it off is when the temperature is around 14 deg and damp. I am no doctor but your problem sounds more asthma than hay fever steve although the hay fever may be bringing it on. You could carry a blue and brown puffer like my self but not actually need it for years.

    10 tonne press will put bearings on easy. You only need more tonnage for rusted on stuff. I only have a 10 tonne if the job needs more than that I want to know why. When things let go at 30 tonnes things can get exciting.

    I always wondered why my line welds itself together in the head is it because I am tight and don't bump often enough or because the line is old. Is there anything that can be sprayed on the real to stop this happening

    I have always wondered if it's worth joining together and asking the powers that be to raise the limit from 3500 kg to 5000 kg before needing an operators licence. This would make the roads safer and help small operators. You could get 2500 kg on the bed legally. Lots of good five tonne Ivecos about. I can understand the 3.5 tonne rule in the 60's but vehicles are so much better designed and built now inc suspension and abs brakes. We run around with gross train weights of 7000 kg on a standard licence. I think it would be safer with twin wheel iveco and no trailer.

    When I looked at boxes the cost killed it. I think certainly wood do it that way. Looks too industrial for me. Makes me think of a bulk box of urinal blocks. Been making kindling since 2009 never split a bag yet. Speak to rob at mc kingstone

    I worked on 10,000 psi stuff in 1998. I was sent on a course for steam cleaners and from what I remember the difference between ep 90 and cat pump oil is. Cat pump oil has inhibitors in it to protect the pump from corrosion and stop it from emulsifying. If it was my pump gearbox I would put ep 90 in it. If it does foam up it will soon flow out the breather and let you know. Sae 20 is a very thin oil in the pump maybe worth talking to a shop that services pressure washers.

    Or cut some 6 mm thick steel sheet and just lay it in there few bolts at the top. Chuck it when knackered. Would stop the floor bending if one of those concrete lumps slipped out the grab before it should.

    Good shout I never considered one because I drove one about 20 years ago and it felt claustrophobic with great big calls to climb over. But things have moved on lots so definately worth a look. I don't hear much good about the ml which probably explains why they are so cheap. A lot of trailer and caravan dealers use them so that says a lot. Thank you to everyone for the advice so far. I am a bit out of touch with the 4x4 market having the same Amazon so long was beginning to think they would bury me in it

    Unless you cut through a phone line with 60 pairs then things get a bit more complicated and they get a bit more excitable 😂

    I know someone runs big merc aluminium tippers and they have some sort of liner that prevents the mud sticking. I think it also protects the floor. If you put stock board in you may struggle to tip out. I would just use it when worn or rotted cut it out and fit a nice new floor. Problem with having nice new shiney kit is it's nice new and shiney and you are tempted to keep it as a shelf queen. Bought for work get it working 😀

    Sounds like a keeper and worth bathing it in wax oyl every couple of years.

    Well I spent an hour on my back with a torch overall it looks ok underneath but can see a 4 inch patch on the inner seal and some welding owner the axle on the main chassis. Around the rear arches there are various holes and they don't look far from the seat belt mounts. The prop looks bent and has some serious dents in it . Previous mots have highlighted steering suspension but I am unsure if that has been rectified So I think for me it's a no. The couple of 17 year old merc ml I have looked at for £1500 have been very good underneath and overall. My budget is 2k - 20k if needed just need the right work horse.
