  1. I don’t need that many lids and 500 ibc tanks cut in half take up a lot of room 😄. I just cut the top 6 inches off and use that for a lid less height and less eyesore . I have started cutting the sides of the tank into 6 in strips and using this as labels on the side of the cage threaded through the bars
  2. Cut the top and bottom off . Make sure they are reasonably clean . Then fit them inside each other when they weigh 1000 kg which is a hell of a lot of plastic liners take them to a trade waste tip/recycling centre they will charge £95 per tonne and take them from you . Don’t buy ibc with nasties in them water soluable or fruit juices ad blue etc are ok
  3. We produce kindling and can stock you all up in the summer but currently have a lead time of 6 weeks . Can’t cope with demand currently
  4. Supply loads of guys on here . Best if we supply our local area rather than add the cost and hassle of pallet freight . Better 100 customers taking 2 or 3 pallets a year than one taking 300 . I also like to see people and have a natter as I am sure some can vouch for 😁
  5. We have made wholesale kindling since 2009 . The margins are tight but must be really tough producing that amount each week for the big outfits. Sounds like you may have too many eggs in one basket wood has doubled in price in 7 years especially with the power station on the east coast . May be spread your out put around a few more customers then when you feel strong enough put the price of the 2000 bags a week up. Hope things turn out well for you
  6. I am thinking 1 metre stillages might work . The ones they use for scaffolding
  7. I had this years ago .if you still have a problem My hand sharpening caused larger teeth one side than the other . Which made the bar try and cut in banana shapes . Solution bench grinder every now and again or new chain .
  8. What was the fault that made you put it on a scope . That voltage is that at the output terminals or coming out the Avr
  9. Yes part of the reason we have a wood burner . As the chimney draws. Fresh air from outside enters from all the cracks and vents etc . Better than sitting in stale air from central heating.
  10. We can supply kindling but it now needs putting in a kiln when it’s delivered . We are about a month behind with orders . There is no dry timber about I think everything is being chipped
  11. One idea would be season in Ibc containers then use a forklift with rotator to tip into the bulk bags
  12. It’s crazy we can buy ash cheaper than softwood and nearly half the price
  13. Maple ,sycamore and hazel were a few more I was eyeing up ?
  14. I am going to give it a go . I have 30 tonnes of ash on order and we know ash splits nicely . We have pop so might do a mix
  15. We thought about using ash but as you say it’s heavy also I suspect it may be too slow burning for kindling . With the demand for bio mass and the price of kindling so low it’s almost impossible to produce it unless you get the wood free or £25 a tonne max
  16. My meters fantastic can’t even get a reading off our kiln dried logs . O% moisture selling like hot cakes . I dare not buy a new meter in case it’s wrong ???
  17. With half the country sat on their ass claiming dole or furlough last thing on the governments mind is to stop people working even if their logs are slightly damp.
  18. What’s the best softwood for turning into kindling and why ?
  19. What’s nasty about the saw dust I don’t like the splinters from larch
  20. Do you have one in Bournemouth we can view
  21. Cord under cord under 6 inch can go straight through without splitting but cord over this will need splitting
  22. Up to 16 inch anything bigger I will split first
  23. I need to hire a wood processor twice a year to process timber for kindling . All straight cord wood currently have 25 tonnes of ash to process. Machine can come with operator . Machine must lend it self to cutting 6 inch logs all day. Need 25 tonnes of Douglas fir cut twice a year or more if busy. location Andover Hampshire fresh coffee supplied
  24. Market place probably out of my area I will have a look it was a good 3-4 ft in diameter
  25. There was a big ash or beech trunk in Angus last week for planks . He may not of got an offer and let go for firewood . Might have been in wood lots
