  1. Once the brake is on the clutch drum bearing will be working,& with the clutch band load on it,if the bearing is shot it could cause the noise. I thought they had a fix for this problem with a different clutch drum & sprocket.
  2. Aww shucks,we can't help it...... Nice to see those frames made up,lovely job you did there,& your a real nice feller too...
  3. Here you go Rich;
  4. Good Luck with the rest of the test Chris,Dirt bike riding gives the best skills in controling a bike on the road in bad conditions.
  5. Building a Harley chop/bobber,heres a couple of pics,it is work in progress!
  6. I would miss the sound of a big limb busting the hinge, then the sight of it going down. That feeling of joy & speculation when you crack up a saw for the first cut in the morning. The joy & relief at the end of a drag & chip. & looking back on a nicely done reduction. I would miss the anticipation on the way to an awkward job. Most missed of all I imagine would be not expanding & learning more about the job from those I work with:001_smile:
  7. Looks well engineered, but I have to agree with you,it just is not looking right,& my attitude is if you cant go see it then dont buy it with these things. Not my cup of tea this one.
  8. Sounds like you got a lovely saw there mate,& this sale just gets me feeling jittery & a bit..:confused1:
  9. Ahh,but we do have (quick praise up),the small Echo over here, beggars cant be choosers!
  10. I thought exactly the same with regards the packaging:sneaky2:
  11. I would say that is not as old as the the guy makes you think, otherwise he would not be selling it right now,I think these saws are still about for export to Brazil or somewhere like that, but I wonder why 'no collection',& why is it up for sale here in the uk from a seller with such a mixmash of different stuff up for sale. Just my opinion...
  12. To my knowledge it is not available here through a dealer,& never has been,Frogs get them & so too the Emerald isle, but us turnip toppers dont get a look in!

  15. Lovely work!
  16. I use my grillon on a side or positioning line & love it.
  17. There are some British manufacturers left that have not been asset stripped or fouled up in the name of short term profit, have a look at timberwolf & greenmech, you wont go far wrong with these imo.

    New Chainsaw

Find a good horticultural /chainsaw dealer, with a franchise on your target brand, local to you,go talk to them & see if they have been around for a while. I would go with a well known make of saw,in the pro range,& one that has seen production for as long as possible,ie the husky 346xp & stihl 260,(think the 260 is long gone now),or an echo/makita. Some of the brand new models have reported issues,& it takes time for them to get ironed out. Make a choice that suits your potential needs, will not prove too heavy & yet will cope with your target work, then ask on here for feedback before you buy.
  19. I have both cancelled a booked subby & had it happen to me,things go wrong, clients cancel, etc. If I have a fall back I will give the subby the days work, but would not expect to be paid as a subby myself when I get cancelled. Fortunately it is not something that crops up too often, but I do believe that we have to roll with the good days & the let downs to help each other make a profit in these tough times.
  20. Much as I love my little echo,I'm always interested in alternative kit,but they dont import these into the uk,same as the 192. Shame.
  21. Good to hear from you Predator.
  22. Thanks for those videos, that has cleared it up for me
  23. The impending husky topper,it is reported to have great power,& we have been waiting ages for it! Seriously though, what is the target range of saw,ie 50cc-probably the xp saws,120cc,maybe the stihl880.
  24. Good stuff here, stress is a bit like electricity, you cant see it,hear it,etc, it is not something we are geneticaly programed to be aware of,...thats how it gets you. It differs because it creeps up on you over time.
  25. ,more so the soggy ones that I got to drop this afternoon round the side of the pond... That 395 is a beast of a saw,I want one!
