  1. Thats nice,I love a little weld project,I can only use stick & mig so far,(used these for years),its a very usefull ability to have. I wonder how many of us arb types make & mend, well worth getting familiar with basic welding & fabricating skills in our line of work. Maybe we should have a welding specific thread, help people get the right kit,(it's a minefield for a newby not to end up with a bad quality welding machine). Also a bad weld can be the cause of all sorts of nightmares, just a thought.
  2. Massive drool here,Had the 250,the 600 & the water cooled 650(HM racing tuned,stage 3). I would love to have the 400 as a keeper,a fantastic fun bike! I want one!
  3. Give it a while, sure someone will pop up who has used one, looks a useful little machine on the face of it for small jobs / tight access.
  4. Trust you Felix!
  5. Get a good one & they are big bang for the bucks, good solid motors, reasonable spares,& off road they are what every other 4x4 aspires ( Jimneys aside) to be.
  6. Spike, your pm box is full up mate:001_rolleyes:
  7. Thats a cracking price,thanks!
  8. I got mine insured for £530,I'm over 50 years young,& have a 10 year ncb. Looking for landy tipper insurance is tough,& expensive. So apart from nfu, trust, and A.Flux, who are we finding to be reasonable, anyone add to the list? Thanks up front!
  9. geoff

    Caught him!

Well done,I bet he has no insurance to show you.
  10. Good shout,& thanks,no problems so far with my little fleet of 5,touch wood!
  11. Oh yes,it has the magic.
  12. Its dead easy, just got to walk out the car park at two bridges & keep the river on your left, maybe half a mile of a tab, going north/north east. Dont get lost!
  13. As you most likely know, they have a similar trans setup to an old 3 series landy,But the 'freewheeling' hubs on the front are activated when you select your 4wd in the cab,(I think it works on solenoids). Mine has proved itself as a usefull little car,a definate David rather than goliath,It can get a medium sized chipper through some narrow gaps,(it has a very small turning circle too),on terrain that your average 'black jap thunderclap' motor cant even get to...
  14. Yes please,I want in on this one if thats ok.
  15. Wow,it has been ten years since I was there last,a wonderfull place,I was just thinking about this wood last week, thanks for the reminder!
  16. I have been offered a chance to trial both the oregon & husky saws for a few days, just waiting for the dealer to let me know when they are in.
  17. Great work,I love it!
  18. Nice work mate, theres some beech limbs in my front yard, if you are passing feel free to liberate them.
  19. Much better than the quad on bad terain,& they are very reliable, treat it gently & you can get near 40mpg,but used harder about 30mpg.
  20. Thats a lovely piece of wood, great work!
  21. Well it won't hurt you,but I would prefer a lemon sorbet myself.
  22. Well I have used mine in some fairly tough situations, they are a very versatile little car,& thats what they are after all. Mine has upset a good few 4x4s both in its ability to get to them,& then to recover them, but a landy is going to out way & out pull a jimny. Back on track,it will do it,but you will work it hard if on an every day basis in anything but rough grass,it will not tow a tw150 on muddy & churned up ground for a living. Superb & bombproof little motors that they are,I should know,we have 5 of them in the family!
  23. Bad news again, feel sorry for you.
  24. Erm..yeah, I will have them if you dont need them anymore.
