  1. Im so sorry to hear of your loss and can not get close to knowing how hard it will be for you to try to fill that void but im sure you have many many fond memories that will maybe make it a bit smaller . my thoughts are with you .
  2. if i were looking for to buy another trailed chipper i would go for either a tp or a premier . yes there are other cheeper chippers out ther but personally after having a timberwolf tw190 and using several greem mech's oh and a jensen i would not bother with them - go onto the vos website and have a look at the tp's - well worth having a look
  3. the boots i had the problems with are the new protector pro's - u know the ones with spikes in . well things are looking up por the protector pros .
  4. it sounds harsh but get used to it , sadly its happening more and more - my advice is keep your standards high and your pricing just as high !! dont stoop as low as these guys . would you rather take a day off or work for free ?
  5. hiya guys , i have recently posted regarding faulty haix boots , little is being done by haix and i have not heard back so im now looking to get a new pair of boots as the Eltens that i have had in the work shop for years are not watter proof , comfortable and whan climbing you can feel every last peg right through the sole if your standing on them . So i have looked at bots and cnt work out which boots to get - They need to be watter proof, good for climbing/ spiking and as we do both utility work which is rough on boots, and domestic/commercial arboriculture im looking for a boot that does pretty much all of the above , i have so far come up with Haix Tabet forresters or protectors. I would appreciate any advice or other options you have guys . oh and please bare in mind i will be buying from FR Jones so something that they sell would be great
  6. the clutch springs will appear to be ok , but under slight load/revs the springs will be weeker and will cause the chain to creep. any way i really hope this solves the problem
  7. apparently not ! you are meant to wear class 2 trousers when using a 357xp , im sure there was a previous thread regarding this .
  8. this possibly is caused by the husky saw - the 357xp has a chain speed which is greater than the level of protection given by a class1 pair of trousers , if im correct the trousers are offering protection for a chain saw running with a max chain speed of 12 meters per second and the 357xp runnes nearer 15- these are only rough figures but i think thats the problem !!
  9. it may sound way off the point but is your mog fitted with an oil cooler ?
  10. are either of the C clips broken ? i would possibly change them and see if that solves the problem , i know they do become week without any warning . oh and i was not questioning your skills at setting up a saw mate
  11. do they use the C clip springs on the clutch ? i had a 346 which had them and found them to be a PITA , also this may sound silly but was the chain tight and did you adjust the tickover much ?
  12. i bet you took a leaf out of his book didnt you ? por old tree surgeon driving round in a little old mog
  13. no problem tommer , it was a pleasure to give the 390 a go and really impressed with it . and like i said if ever you need any TM or road closures doing feel free to give me a shout .
  14. tom did you get a pic of the stump ? i found it interesting how the LA can demand the removal of a tree within 14 days or they will do it them selves and charge the earth - IMO it was not as urgent as they made out , but hey ho they scared the crap out of two oap's needlesly !!!!
  15. could have been worse !!! he could have been using long gaffs !!!!
  16. i may well pop up , if there is anyone down in cornwall im happy to give you a lift . any way how come they gave up the Jensen dealership ?
  17. i was just looking at a richmonds catalogue and noticed the there are some treeme boots in there and the sizes they do are 13-15 hope this helps - i was gutted they dont seem to sell them in a 12 as i need to replace the craay 6 month old haix i currently have
  18. cool , thanks for the heads up , if iwll give you a shout if it dont go too well with nissan , he may well get it in a box of bits but im sure he will make much much more sense of it all than me lol, where abouts are you based to ?
  19. wicked , cheers mate . i aint going to harras them , i just need to try and get a date as to when they will take it in . im playing dumb for now but i have asked for info on the new navara !!
  20. lol , i would loved to have seen a picture of that . so how long before a letter comes from highways informing that the trees are not complying with the highways statitory minimum height regs ?
  21. i personally would steer well clear , the red tape involved in wate transfer and disposal is a nightmare and if im honest without 100k worth of screening kit and shredding plant i dont rally think you would be able to produce decent quality compost . However if you know you have got large quantities of green wast coming in why dont you spek to the local green waste companies in your area and see if you could get a decent price from them , you may well be able to make a small proffit from the haulage of green waste hope this is of help to you
  22. looks nasty !! sadly Bin lorrys do go with trees - well tree work , i have used one to chip into and found it to be amazing , as for this situation the bin lorry clearly won
  23. you need to drain the tank on your chipper , then clean it out and check to see if there is an in tank filter fitted , once doing this put the tank back onto the chipper -then change all other fuel filters and see if the problem is still there . if so then check to see if a breather is blocked- if there is one
  24. your a star , thank you , im on to them tomorrow.
  25. well the truck is going into nisan next week and we will wait and see what they say , i have heard from so many people that have had this problem , it makes you wonder why nissan are so tight on what they replace - thankfully the service book is spot on and the truck is in good condition , the most gutting bit is that we were looking to trade it in within the next month of so as the missus has her eve on the new mitsi evo - WELL that will have to wait lol
