  1. failing that give me a shout , i have a 2007 saw thats sat here doing nowt, i could let you have it fot £225
  2. which im most cases is selective and mainly one sided lol , i worked for a guy and when ever anyone mentioned a pay rise he would reply " i am currently reviewing it" i got sick of this so asked him when this review would determin whether any of us were ever going to see a pay rise, his answer - hmmm best i review that too !!!!
  3. oh right , i had not thought of that huck , i will certainly see how far it blows wet conifer before spending out on the parts to fit it to the front , having said that i way well sell the junkkari and get a front mount schlies or ducker if one comes around at the right price
  4. i would say give the 372 a go , they are great saws and ideal for hours and hours of logging , i would not bother with the 441 , we had one here for a short while , both myself and the guys that work for me wanted to use it , we would all much rather take the old husky 288xp out to site . if you want a little more power again then why not go for the 390 xp ? i was using tommers last sunday and now i MUST have one , it seemed to have bag loads of power and bottom end grunt .
  5. i was in the same sort of situation as you and i did go of on my own in the end BUT be prepared to work for alot less and work more hours if you do go off on your own . i have spent all of this week out on site working then spent all of today untill 8 in the workshop servicing kit and repairing kit and i will be back out there tomorow first thing for most of the day finnishing off what i did today followed by sorting out all the kit we need for mondays job . Also i would be very crefull going of on your own in todays current financial limate , if where you are is anything like down here then every man and his dog are becoming tree surgeons
  6. as stated alredy i would but a tractor and loader - verry versitile and usefull out on site too .
  7. dont get me wrong im not knocking you , i have hung from the bucket of out platform many of times
  8. yeah been in the penryn area Ady , we were on a stinking clearence job , but twas great fun ofroading in the mog however i did get the mazda seriously stuck in a boggy field/ river ha ha ha ha ha . where did you see us too ?
  9. without sounding like im having a personal dig but do you think anyone from the HSE ever have a look on sites like Arb Talk ??
  10. to be totally honest it is rather costly and if you are serious about getting into industrial rope access then you will need level 1 and 2 for sure . i used to do most of the clearence work for a company called celtic rock , i spent all of my time working from a single line and safety line , the work was varied from clifs over roads and railways ,beeches etc right up to working in a couple quarys in north wales . Trust me the first 20 or 30 dropps are reat fun but it quickly becomes rather dull . Well at least untill your on a quary face while they are blasting at the other end of the quary lol . If i were you and looking into getting into rope access then maybe get a job with a firm first .Trust me there is alot of red tape involved .
  11. that is an option but A) brand new is out of the question and b) i have not seen any for sale in a long time .
  12. to be totally honest im not too sure , i will probably want to mount the reversing box to the din
  13. will post some pics tomorrow , im hoping the angle from the pto drive to the chipper should not be too accute , oh and somewhere in all this i need to fit a revesing box
  14. hi guys im looking to front mount my chiper using the Din plate the came with the chipper , is there another plate that fits to the three point linkage on the chipper so that i can mount the chiper on to the din plate ? i hav trawled every previous mog thread and still am not any further forward . thanks guys Dave
  15. fair enough , in that case take them to a cobblers , they will fit new ones for you i woud not bother trying to do it your self
  16. spot on , i would contact the uk distributor which is Workware uk , they will explain what info they need but it certainly does not sound good enough IMO .
  17. no strictly true, we has a tracked Green mec in a woods for a shut down this week it think it was a 1925 (not to sure of the model no) it chipped slowly, did not blow the chip far enough and rather poor track capabilities , oh and then trying to get the machine out of the woods on of the tracks came off , IMO not a very good machine , certainly compared to jensens and schliesing chippers .
  18. hi how old are the boots?
  19. hiya chaps im looking to fit our P.T.O wood chipper weighing 675kg to the front of our u1600 using the din plate but not having any joy finding kits or info on how to do this , any advice is greatly appreciated . thanks guys
  20. good luck trying to use the breaks on a bedford without going through the windscreen when first jumpin in it in the morning . i drove a few and it was always a good idea to do a couple laps of the camp before getting out on the open road
  21. to be honest i would not be too keen on either - both have ok off road capabailities but not great and certainly not great of road when loaded , it really does depend on just how much you wanna carry . we run a u1600 unimog and today it came into its own once again managing to get us to places we(I) didnt think we were going to get to ! And toed the mazda 4x4 out of a bog that a managed to burry it up to its axels in , however if i did not hve weekly need for a vehicle that could opperate in such conditions or to carry/ tow heavy loads and run a chipper then i would not have one . Any way what im trying to get at is maybe you could do with something smaller that still goes most places - like a 110 hi cap landrover , i think this would be my first option . any way i hope this may help
  22. so what are the meindle air streams like for being watter proof and breathable ? anyone wearing the new stretchairs ??
  23. well there crap any way:blushing: , but cheers for pointing that out bud:thumbup:
  24. its always interesting hearing it from another point of view - another case of the media having feck all to report on so thought they would dig a little to get the general public angry.
  25. ha you wanna try working with the cornish !!! tight is only a half hearted attempt in their books lol
