  1. to be totally honest im not too sure , i will probably want to mount the reversing box to the din
  2. will post some pics tomorrow , im hoping the angle from the pto drive to the chipper should not be too accute , oh and somewhere in all this i need to fit a revesing box
  3. hi guys im looking to front mount my chiper using the Din plate the came with the chipper , is there another plate that fits to the three point linkage on the chipper so that i can mount the chiper on to the din plate ? i hav trawled every previous mog thread and still am not any further forward . thanks guys Dave
  4. fair enough , in that case take them to a cobblers , they will fit new ones for you i woud not bother trying to do it your self
  5. spot on , i would contact the uk distributor which is Workware uk , they will explain what info they need but it certainly does not sound good enough IMO .
  6. no strictly true, we has a tracked Green mec in a woods for a shut down this week it think it was a 1925 (not to sure of the model no) it chipped slowly, did not blow the chip far enough and rather poor track capabilities , oh and then trying to get the machine out of the woods on of the tracks came off , IMO not a very good machine , certainly compared to jensens and schliesing chippers .
  7. hi how old are the boots?
  8. hiya chaps im looking to fit our P.T.O wood chipper weighing 675kg to the front of our u1600 using the din plate but not having any joy finding kits or info on how to do this , any advice is greatly appreciated . thanks guys
  9. good luck trying to use the breaks on a bedford without going through the windscreen when first jumpin in it in the morning . i drove a few and it was always a good idea to do a couple laps of the camp before getting out on the open road
  10. to be honest i would not be too keen on either - both have ok off road capabailities but not great and certainly not great of road when loaded , it really does depend on just how much you wanna carry . we run a u1600 unimog and today it came into its own once again managing to get us to places we(I) didnt think we were going to get to ! And toed the mazda 4x4 out of a bog that a managed to burry it up to its axels in , however if i did not hve weekly need for a vehicle that could opperate in such conditions or to carry/ tow heavy loads and run a chipper then i would not have one . Any way what im trying to get at is maybe you could do with something smaller that still goes most places - like a 110 hi cap landrover , i think this would be my first option . any way i hope this may help
  11. so what are the meindle air streams like for being watter proof and breathable ? anyone wearing the new stretchairs ??
  12. well there crap any way:blushing: , but cheers for pointing that out bud:thumbup:
  13. its always interesting hearing it from another point of view - another case of the media having feck all to report on so thought they would dig a little to get the general public angry.
  14. ha you wanna try working with the cornish !!! tight is only a half hearted attempt in their books lol
  15. Im so sorry to hear of your loss and can not get close to knowing how hard it will be for you to try to fill that void but im sure you have many many fond memories that will maybe make it a bit smaller . my thoughts are with you .
  16. if i were looking for to buy another trailed chipper i would go for either a tp or a premier . yes there are other cheeper chippers out ther but personally after having a timberwolf tw190 and using several greem mech's oh and a jensen i would not bother with them - go onto the vos website and have a look at the tp's - well worth having a look
  17. the boots i had the problems with are the new protector pro's - u know the ones with spikes in . well things are looking up por the protector pros .
  18. it sounds harsh but get used to it , sadly its happening more and more - my advice is keep your standards high and your pricing just as high !! dont stoop as low as these guys . would you rather take a day off or work for free ?
  19. hiya guys , i have recently posted regarding faulty haix boots , little is being done by haix and i have not heard back so im now looking to get a new pair of boots as the Eltens that i have had in the work shop for years are not watter proof , comfortable and whan climbing you can feel every last peg right through the sole if your standing on them . So i have looked at bots and cnt work out which boots to get - They need to be watter proof, good for climbing/ spiking and as we do both utility work which is rough on boots, and domestic/commercial arboriculture im looking for a boot that does pretty much all of the above , i have so far come up with Haix Tabet forresters or protectors. I would appreciate any advice or other options you have guys . oh and please bare in mind i will be buying from FR Jones so something that they sell would be great
  20. the clutch springs will appear to be ok , but under slight load/revs the springs will be weeker and will cause the chain to creep. any way i really hope this solves the problem
  21. apparently not ! you are meant to wear class 2 trousers when using a 357xp , im sure there was a previous thread regarding this .
  22. this possibly is caused by the husky saw - the 357xp has a chain speed which is greater than the level of protection given by a class1 pair of trousers , if im correct the trousers are offering protection for a chain saw running with a max chain speed of 12 meters per second and the 357xp runnes nearer 15- these are only rough figures but i think thats the problem !!
  23. it may sound way off the point but is your mog fitted with an oil cooler ?
  24. are either of the C clips broken ? i would possibly change them and see if that solves the problem , i know they do become week without any warning . oh and i was not questioning your skills at setting up a saw mate
  25. do they use the C clip springs on the clutch ? i had a 346 which had them and found them to be a PITA , also this may sound silly but was the chain tight and did you adjust the tickover much ?
