  1. another one of bracken (he really is a mummys boy)
  2. here is Bracken he is my youngest springer of two , i will try and upload the pics of the Boss (bramble) they are two amazing boys who have loads and loads of charactor .
  3. I can see where your comming from Huck , i should have added that these trucks have to be tested to make sure that they are still up to insulated standards , and as has been stated they can not run the risk of the mog being off the road as it can be required 24 hours a day . every three years the mog is taken off the road and the hoist is taken to pieces then reconditioned and put back together. there is nothing taken to chance with these guys , no shopping round for parts , if the part needed was to cost say 9k there would not be a question about it , they would be ordering it (if they do not carry what ever it is as a spare) .
  4. western power distribution run all vehicles on white for some reason , as for servicing they have their own trained fitters (trained by merc) to do all of the work to their fleet . the reason the mog is so expensive to service is because the machine is running on its weight limmit all of the time due to the lift platform and kit its carrying - the breaks are fully services every three months , along with every thing elts , i will try to get a coppy of the spec sheet for you , the bloody thing has prety much every possible extra going and to top it off its kept in a constantly heated garrage when not in use . it really is some bit of kit huck
  5. to be honest david i would be inclined to ebay it and buy a new transcube bunded site fuel store , if you have a swinger of timber crane you will be able to load it and un load it from the back of a truck , the ruels for fuel storage have all been ammended in recent years and that tank will mostlikely not meet the current standards . especially if your on sites working for big nationals !!
  6. the biggest problem with that mog is getting it in anywhere , i was chatting to the driver of that mog when they first got it , he was telling me about how much fuel it drinks- the yard is in redruth, they fill the tank £240 they then drive 40 miles to a job near lands end use the mog for just over an hour and then drive back to the yard in redruth - the mog burnt just short of £80 worth of fuel , he then went on to say that they have to service the mog every 3 months and the service (done in house) costs roughly 2k . kind of putts you off having one for line clearence really especially when you or i could still not use it on live 11kv
  7. that is a nice bit of kit aint it we were out an a fult with that live line team in the winter and got to use it , but it aint no ordinary lift , it hs a crane facility, is fully insulated to work on live 11 kv lines , the hydraulic oil is actually a special fluid that will not conduct , oh and it cost them well over 200k to have it built but still it only reaches 20m but never the less its a great bit of kit
  8. its most likely to be next tursday or friday Alex , to be honest im kind of in the dark as we have been asked t go up and do the work on a day rate and i have only seen some pics of the tree . i find my self wondering why oh why do i get my self into these jobs lol but hey its a change of scene i guess
  9. roughly two transit loads of timber (2 ton loads) im not to worried about the chip as i can always bring it back to cornwall but would much rather i did not have to lol
  10. without sounding funny , why do you need to clean the tank out in the first place ? if its because of sawdast and other tree related crap in the tank then you need to address how and why its getting in there in the first place .
  11. cheers Mick, i will give them a try on my next legs day , what exercises are you using to train your ab's ? im currently using weighted russain twist's , planks, weighted crunches, leg raises and v crunches , however im just not making any progres with my ab's:thumbdown:
  12. So true Mark , the funny thing is that he aint gaining muscle and still will only train light ie; 30 kg incline bench , 5 kg latteral raises etc oh and rill not train anythin other than upper body . i really do not get why some people do it
  13. hiya chaps i have a job to carry out next week in East Knoyle, wilts and was wondering if anyone in the area could take the timber and maybe the chip too ??
  14. ha ha i must admit it can prove rather awkward to train whilst trying to hold back a ripper !!! mind you one of the lads in the gym is on the gear nd he smell like he is rotting from the inside -out
  15. im sure you will get your 100 kg mate , i bet you will supprise your self when you give dipps a go , i often chop and change betwene bench press and dipps. are you using any suplements ???
  16. thats a good weight Mick great stuff , my biggest sticking point is my legs , when it comes to squatting a can squatt 145 @5x5 but no matter what i try i can not seem to get past 145 , i know that being 6foot3 squatts are not the easyest but it still really frustraits me
  17. is that 24 (23.9) cornish tons or british tons tommer ??
  18. im currently fluxuating betwene 120 and 125 , at 5x5 , how about you ??
  19. glad to hear your geeting some gains mate , maybe try mixing it up with some military press , upright rows , and some skull krushers oh and not forgetting some latteral raises . all of these will aid in benching , and along with some tricep dipps will have you pressing out 10 reps at 100k in no time
  20. not had any problems with bolts vidrating lose , has anyone tried yousing high temp lock tight ? there are two types, either permenent or not permenent ??? . i have had many many husky saws and never had this problem of bolts comming out . maybe there are various assembly plants and you take pot luck weather you get a good or a bad one
  21. not at all tommer , we did some work for the same company down here , they were really happy with the job and have asked us to do more work for them in wilts and london . pluss we all know you and your outfit has all the big work down here sewn up:laugh1:
  22. ha ha ha well if fuel prices keep going up the way they are my gues is that it wont be long before we are using cheep poor quality fuel over here and running the 780 over here
  23. oi have you not seen the A30 betwene truro and camborne ?? devon and cornwalls entire reserve of road cones are being used
  24. as hard as it may seem at the moment dont lose sight , down here there are alot of firms advertising for tree work and most of them are prepared to work pretty much for free and thats fine but im not dropping my prices just to get work that aint going to make me a penny , i would much rather stey back at the farm cutting logs ready to sell , im in it for the long term !!. hold tight mate keep positive and if your not out working on the saws then get in on the phone and computer , dont wait for the phone to ring mate you need to make it ring. im always pushing no matter how busy i am , im now in a dituation where by i have a big job in london , and another in wilt's that i have been asked to quote purely because i went looking for more work , i work on a 1 in 10 theory that for every ten jobs i quote im likely to get one . Any way i really hope that work pics up for you .
  25. both incidents sound horrible for the public , my thoughts are with them , as for the weather has it been that bad up in the midlands ? its been quite nice down here for a change
