  1. mate i had an amazing time there , its a great place to learn and take your firs steps in the industry , as for what 5 eletrical things to take i would not be too worried about a fridge as each block has a fridge , kettle and microwave , oh and a telly. you will also be in a block with other fellow arb students , i would say take and allarm clock , laptop, and if you have long hair then why not take some hair straitners ha ha ha ha good luck mate im sure you will be fine
  2. ha ha ha i like it , we have one similar to this behind a garrage comming down in the next couple weeks with a crane , anyway i llok forward to seeing the pop in the flesh !! cheers mate
  3. great stuff Joe , i look forward to having a look at it this weekend .
  4. lol , nowt wrong with a bit of cut and chuck on film. i was on the news back in 2003 when a tree fell through the roof of a house in torquay , i was seen using my ms200 on the balkony of the house , my boos gave me a fair old rolocking about it lol but in theory i was off the ground and i was using my climbing gear ha ha
  5. in comparison how much is one of those iveco's costing ? im pretty sure Western Power will be buying some u20's soon
  6. cheers for the advice guys , i will stick with the quick chip i think , i have not heard anything bad about them .
  7. nice bit of kit , looks like it will beat the iveco hands down !!
  8. hiya guys im in a quadry as i have been offered a 9 inch kwick chipe already but have just been offered a Junkari 10 inch pto chipper so im wondering if anyone can give some advice on comparrisons . thanks in advance guys
  9. right i will put my foot in it -what does cs50 cover ?
  10. i bought a mog from a fellow Arb talker , i heard of bad points and i heard of good points with regards to the mog i was looking to buy . i went and looked at the mog and discussed the comments with the owner , i took on board the full facts of what i had been told by both fellow Arb talkers and the owner - i bought the mog and although i have had some teathing problems im happy with the mog that i have . The bottom line is that anyone buying a vehicle or piece of plant/machinery should have access to the full facts - if that has to come from a third party then so be it !! i once bought a 4x4 tipper and was not made aware of the full facts and it proved costly and yes that was from a fellow arbtalk member . if your willing to post a sale on an open forum then you need to be prepared for an open discussion , from the sound of it the guy selling this mog seems a decant honest chap and i wish him all the best with the sale of his mog
  11. taday i got out my Poison ivy to climb on as my shorter rope was left in the yard , i very quickly remembered why i dought it , its not to small , its light , easy to move round the tree and works really really well with a Lock Jack and friction saver . Looks like i will be leaving my shorter rope in the yard more often !!!!
  12. hmmmmmm its a tricky one mate , not sure i can help you on this one
  13. so true , and people thought schliesing chippers were a tad on the deer side , maybe these timberwolf chippers are a bit better than the standard ones
  14. i saw that mate , almost 900 k is a bit steep , maybe they are special and have landrover parts fitted lmao
  15. right im not not at all sure what to do - do i do the tec cert or the RFS level 2 ! and oppinions or advice guys ???

  18. right i will be on the dog and bone to Mercough and see what i can sort out for this year . thanks for the advice and offers of info and support guys
  19. great pics Rhys , i have not forgotten the invoice , i will get my arse in gear.
  20. sounds like a really good idea tony , i would be really keen on finding out how the trials go .
  21. sorry i shoud have been a little more blunt and said tree officers . i deal with one TO down here and he is spot on but dealing with the planning offices is a real PITA and tend to get alot of my time wasted
  22. there are many ways in which to make the system better - for one i would reccomend that more common sense is to be used - for instance why TPO a small sycamore growing from the top of a bank and compramising a retianing wall and is over crowded ?? , secondly i think that as tree surgeons/ consultants we should be able to view tpo and conservation details online , i spend way too much time on the phone to the locall planners and most of it on hold . Dont get me wrong im not running the whole system down but from experience down here in cornwall it is far from strait forward .
  23. well if Binladen is the winning bidder then im sure he wil get the weapon systems working again lol
  24. Lock Jack does both , personaly i would give both a go, different climbing systems have different pro's and con's and its really a case of tryin them and seeing what fits best . i use the Lock Jack and im happy with it .
