  1. well if your worried then take a groundy that can fell small trees , at least that way if you do get into trouble he can fell the tree but make sure he leaves a big hinge lol
  2. well at last i finally got a repy to my email and according to work ware the protector extreme is "not designed for tree surgery" and should only be used for forrestry , oh and acording to them they have only had a handfull of boots returned !! not how strange is it that all of the fault boots must have been worn by guys on here ?? lol i thing some one is trying to blow smoke !!! anyway i will wait to hear the verdict now that they have some pictures of the boots and will keep you all posted
  3. so back to the U20 - does anyone know of one being used in tree surgery yet ???

  5. where abouts do you get your tyres from ? down here in cornwall its less than simple to get tyres for a mog
  6. Dave/Steve or anyone elts running a mog or has been running one i was wondering who and how much your paying for tyres , i have spoken to a local tyre firm who are normally really compettive told me they could only get Continentals in at 510 plus vat and the other was Frank at atkinsons who also would only suppy Continentals 440 plus vat . im running 445/70/24 any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
  7. some of us on here that own/opperate unimogs are actually interested in new products and developments within the unimog range , it does not mean that as owners we have more money than sense and neither does it allow someone who clearly has not owned or run a unimog the oppertunity to make that statment that you have made , i for one bought a unimog because it served a purpose and does what i need it to do and that is something that almost no there utility vehicle does . Now as far as i can see this thread started as an informative thread and not a slanging match so if you wouldnt mind not booring me with your unsubstanciated ramblings i would be over the moon
  8. very nice Huck !!! looks like a great setup you have .
  9. so did i , mind you i think i would call it shrub work lol .

  11. best i get sharpening the tynes on the rake then lol
  12. mate i had an amazing time there , its a great place to learn and take your firs steps in the industry , as for what 5 eletrical things to take i would not be too worried about a fridge as each block has a fridge , kettle and microwave , oh and a telly. you will also be in a block with other fellow arb students , i would say take and allarm clock , laptop, and if you have long hair then why not take some hair straitners ha ha ha ha good luck mate im sure you will be fine
  13. ha ha ha i like it , we have one similar to this behind a garrage comming down in the next couple weeks with a crane , anyway i llok forward to seeing the pop in the flesh !! cheers mate
  14. great stuff Joe , i look forward to having a look at it this weekend .
  15. lol , nowt wrong with a bit of cut and chuck on film. i was on the news back in 2003 when a tree fell through the roof of a house in torquay , i was seen using my ms200 on the balkony of the house , my boos gave me a fair old rolocking about it lol but in theory i was off the ground and i was using my climbing gear ha ha

  19. hiya guys im in a quadry as i have been offered a 9 inch kwick chipe already but have just been offered a Junkari 10 inch pto chipper so im wondering if anyone can give some advice on comparrisons . thanks in advance guys
  20. right i will put my foot in it -what does cs50 cover ?
  21. i bought a mog from a fellow Arb talker , i heard of bad points and i heard of good points with regards to the mog i was looking to buy . i went and looked at the mog and discussed the comments with the owner , i took on board the full facts of what i had been told by both fellow Arb talkers and the owner - i bought the mog and although i have had some teathing problems im happy with the mog that i have . The bottom line is that anyone buying a vehicle or piece of plant/machinery should have access to the full facts - if that has to come from a third party then so be it !! i once bought a 4x4 tipper and was not made aware of the full facts and it proved costly and yes that was from a fellow arbtalk member . if your willing to post a sale on an open forum then you need to be prepared for an open discussion , from the sound of it the guy selling this mog seems a decant honest chap and i wish him all the best with the sale of his mog
  22. taday i got out my Poison ivy to climb on as my shorter rope was left in the yard , i very quickly remembered why i dought it , its not to small , its light , easy to move round the tree and works really really well with a Lock Jack and friction saver . Looks like i will be leaving my shorter rope in the yard more often !!!!
  23. hmmmmmm its a tricky one mate , not sure i can help you on this one
  24. so true , and people thought schliesing chippers were a tad on the deer side , maybe these timberwolf chippers are a bit better than the standard ones
