  1. Good lad Sam, there's only 1 way to learn:thumbup1:
  2. Use the guys on here, any rope will do if it's the right rope. I always buy the best value and take the advice of the guys in the arb shop, I always get a rope with spliced eyes as I hate knots.
  3. My dogs live downstairs in a big cage and a comfy bed, the border can't be bothered with the kids and the German pointer is a head case and can't settle upstairs, oh and I'm now allergic to them for some reason! They spend their time snoozing During the day they are in the living area and kitchen with my wife.
  4. I'm all for making money but I would never take advantage of someone in need.
  5. I'd go no problem , my dad would come and drag branched and the boys would get spoilt without the grumpy men in the house. I love working, my families life revolves around it, it's what pays the bills for the nice things and puts the fancy jeep in the drive. My wife understands this as do my kids. I am not restricted by a boss I do what I want when I want for the people that I like. We treat every day like Christmas in our house anyway and if someone needs my help then I go . It's not like the old days when it was the only day if the year you got a treat
  6. Nice 1, how did you get on with the forest fires in the summer?
  7. I bet that would pull back into the wood, it would even give a little jumpy bounce at the start:biggrin:
  8. Though should realise that time works the same for you as it does me. 8.10am is not 2 secs late and 4.31pm does not mean you put 30 mins overtime in to 5oclock! Though shall not drag what though can carry! Though shall pick up the biggest bit furthest away first! Though shall not start the blower until optimum raking has been done! Though shall dig with a spade and shovel with a shovel, the other way round takes 1 too long and breaks the other!
  9. Though shall not chew with your mouth open in my vehicles! Though shall not ask questions! Though shall just keep working when boss talks to customer! Though shall shut the van door with the appropriate pressure, it's not the hatch of a Sheman Tank! Though shall understand that the Big Vein on the side of my head means its shooshy quiet time! Though shall not leave work tools lying around the work site like clothes in a teenagers bedroom! Though shall not eats sweets to themselves in the vehicle after boss has just bought them Breakfast! Though shall not shout very loudly ' you just broke the fence '! Though shall get out the vehicle before I've managed to get out, start the chipper and fire up the saw! Though shall be able to work out if we are at a job in the Mog, do not fill the ton bag to the top with sawdust and gravel! Though shall not put Y shaped forked branches into the 8" chipper that even a whole Tree Heizohack would struggle with unless it had a retro fit hydraulic roller, even then it might take a few attempts and risk stalling the 350 hp Fendt that's powering it! Though shall realise No means No, maybe means no, not just now means no and yes that should be ok, means depends how you are today! Though shall tie their laces before turning up! Though shall not walk anywhere empty handed! Though shall be ready standing outside their house when told to be here. Though shall now know why I work alone!
  10. If you don't take my advice on the pull it off with a bit of rope and save a lot of hassle, drive a telehandler up the drive and lift it off with the forks , should take about 5 minutes and cost you £50 to the driver:thumbup1:
  11. I will await the ' customer wants me to pay for his shed roof ' thread
  12. Just make sure you are not taking liability for damage to the garage before you start a saw! Get the guy to get his insurance out and see what they say, if he's covered then put a rope on the butt and pull it off, it will topple over and land on the grass and then he pays you for not much time and a builder fixes the garage with the insurance money.
  13. Hi Sandy, where aborts are you, that looks like Loch Fine in the back ground. I would need another rocker button on the left control to work the other aux properly, the is a button to switch between the 2 options but still use the right rocker switch and the foot pedal is too awkward to work.
  14. Very stormy here and forecasted tomorrow aswell!
  15. It's been nice and warm in the digger, had to turn the heaters down most days:thumbup:
  16. I've won something every year, Id forgotten about 1 of the prizes and then I found 2 pairs of globes and a hat from Clarks that I'd misplaced, what a result finding them in October:biggrin:
  17. I won the trousers last year, I've worn them I'd say for 8momths out the twelve this year, I think the Mrs has managed to wash them a few times and there isn't a hint of damage or wear on them. I reckon I'm going to get about 10 years out these bad boys, and they are smart enough for inlaws and out for dinner:biggrin:
  18. Super simple mate, my right thumb controls the auxiliary 1 on the boom, then a little pedal courtesy of Exac1 runs down a cable on the boom via the fag lighter, this operates a valve block that's built into the quick hitch that swaps between rotate and open/shut. And I can control the speed of the flow with my little dial, I've got it on fast:laugh1: The pedal is like 1 from a sewing machine. The work I've done with it in about 12 hrs is nuts! I tidied up a 3 stem windblown 70' cedar and 100 foot Sitka that I felled across it in about 20 minutes after shedding them out . I just started a fire beside it, tractor ran out the timber as I just loaded the fire. The Sitka branches were those horrible 20' back crunchers if you had to handball them.
  19. Mine doesn't wobble about, and when it closes it pinches together not like a log grab which closes inside itself. Exac-One Ltd - Mini Grapple
