  1. I've not seen that Video, cheers Ben. I shall try that next time.
  2. I didn't even notice the foam off the seat! Your bikes are pristine!
  3. He's done that before! Brilliant how he lined up,that bottom cut without even thinking! Is that an 088 ? It could certainly cut:biggrin:
  4. Wow!!! Fantastic
  5. I think you should go for a driving, groundsman job with a tree company and then you'll get experience , wages and a chance to use a saw and work your way into a climber. Hgv and team leader skills are very desirable. You come across very professional . Simon Rutherford is looking for guys, he's in Coventry. Is that near you?
  6. That's a cracking tune aswell, I'm not that big into music but that gets turned up when it's on the radio!
  7. Apologies, I never read it fully hence my short answer of felling it! If its stood up until now I would climb it. I never knew what a co dominant stem was until I joined this forum, I thought it was just a place for beasties to live. Like Huck I very rarely rig anything, strip anything on the way up and if you feel knocking the top out will be a bit wobbly, do a spear cut and this will remove the top with as little force on the stem, then section it down. If you feel safer roping in to the other tree crack in, think about what you are doing with the top first as your anchor line may get in the way.
  8. As Eddie said before, a wee trailer or box isnt going to revolutionise the digger world, or save haring other kit on jobs, but for small tasks on the right job it will be easier. Make it, stick it on and go for it.
  9. No that was cheesy, :001_rolleyes:the felling onto the truck bit I meant:biggrin:
  10. Some say it helps the timber land just like it did, on woodland jobs it saves wastage on timber. I've tried it and don't like it, maybe just been doing my own thing too long though.
  11. I likes that bit at the end:thumbup1:
  12. If it was too fell a 100ft Sitka beside a house in the storm, I'd happily charge £500 for an hours work, if there is risk and skill involved, it takes years to learn such tasks. As for a job that took 2 drunk guys 45 mins
  13. Definitely a 50ft cherry, better pics.
  14. I find breakfasts depends on how close you are working to a toilet ! Good luck with the change. I try and eat good simple non processed food in small portions lots of times a day. I find it hard to make myself stop and go for something during a job, especially climbing or tidying a garden, My brain works on the reward when the job its done .
  15. Sounds like a £100 job to me, your circumstances at the time should not effect what you charge on a very simple small job. It would be the same as charging double because its your birthday
  16. I first thought cherry with the ripples, then I looked at the other stem and lower on the trunk was more white in colour. Going by the coppice in the back ground we may have height issue
  17. a little steps mate, when you go for a drive at night, your headlamps don't light up your final destination, they just light up enough for you to see in front for a bit. It's really very simple, you just need to want it, and it will happen. Welcome aboard
  18. Aspin or pop maybe
  19. Good looking truck:thumbup1:
  20. She was never struggling, I rolled it the whole way. I find shifting wet soil far heavier on the machine with the ditching bucket on.
  21. Can I jump on here please? I've recently moved a lot of milled timber for a customer , they were stacked well and covered in polythene. There were holes in the polythene and quite a lot of the top boards have rotted and were damp . I've re located the timber in a very windy place and have not re covered them . Am I best to leave as is or remove damaged timber and cover with fresh tarps? Thanks
  22. I watched that last night, those poor guys!
  23. Depends on how the climber interprets it, I class it as fix the tree, so that's what I would do. Your means you have be wrong in the past, maybe that's why they felt they had to be very detailed for you:001_rolleyes:
  24. ALI just see 1 and it's chain is slack! Very nice looking bike, looks very light:001_cool:
