  1. Take a look here Cotswolds AONB : Cotswolds hedgelaying competition to take place Should be plenty of cutters. I've entered but not had a reply yet.
  2. I can only speak from my experience. I've seen many hedges that have died. The honey fungus may have been secondary though. Incidentally I used to do regular work for a client who's hedge started to die from HF. She decided to treat it with Bray's Emulsion and lost only a very small portion of her hedge. Not sure I'd recommend it's use though!
  3. Privet is susceptible to Honey fungus. It seems likely in your case.
  4. RIP. Herefordshire is as fine a place to rest as anywhere in the world.
  5. I might try and get down for a look. Have competed in the national twice in the late 80s. It's a fair old slog in Midland to complete your length as I decided I didn't want saw chip lying about so axe and billhook only.
  6. Signed. Something close to my heart.
  7. They're about on par with the grey squirrel. Be nice to see both of them gone.
  8. Do they make cars like that now? As an aside I change the oil in my Yamaha enduro machine after every ride. That's probably 100 miles between changes. It's now six years old now and has never had a spanner on the engine.
  9. Love the Merlin and also this ;The greatest racing motorcycle ever built.
  10. Your wrappers look completely different to our Midland. Almost look like hurdles or is it a trick of the light?
  11. It is. Sorry about that. My eyesight and mental capability are going downhill fast:001_smile:
  12. Looks like Fistulina on an oak.
  13. It seems such a short time ago. I'd been reducing a maple and it was on TV when I arrived home. It also coincided with my wife telling me it was all over so I was in one hell of a state. It's a date that will stick in minds forever. Like the assasination of Kennedy, Martin Luther King and the death of Princess Diana.
  14. All impressive shots. What lenses are you using?
  15. Beautiful shot. Off to take a peak at your website now:thumbup1:
  16. Taste of Honey; Saturday Night, Sunday Morning; Loneliness of the long Distance Runner; Ealing Comedies; Road To series...
  17. Have always used Jones Springs Ltd - Jones Springs Ltd.. They've supplied me with springs for trucks and will uprate too.
  18. Round wood piles will outlast sawn or machined.
  19. A lad I worked with cut through a wasps' nest clearing off burry growth on elms prior to felling. He had about forty stings to his legs and nether regions:001_smile: Treated him with a blue bag and he was working again two hours later.
  20. The tannic acid in oak will eat steel screws. Brass screws won't corrode. You won't kill it but each screw hole is a point of entry etc.

    Moto GP

Marquez will continue to fly but he's pushing the limits so he has to come a cropper at some time. Lorenzo and Pedrosa I think are short on stamina due to injury but will get faster. Crutchlow will continue as he is even though he's got factory fuel tank now. Rossi will bide his time and just keep some points coming in. One thing's for sure; Marquez has livened the whole proceedings up. Shame Simoncelli's not around too.
  22. A pub I went in was burning willow. Super hot.
