  1. Comma and friend from last year.
  2. Just had a thought. Parrotia persica although the bark in the pic doesn't look quite right.

Ah...must be talking to Ducati then:001_smile:

Possibly yes. It just seems that all the pundits are clouded in their judgement of his riding because he's British and are heralding him as the new Sheene, Hailwood etc. That he is not. Even with a full Japanese factory backing I just don't think he'll cut it. He may win odd races but there's just something missing that will put him above others. Anyway. Just my opinion. I don't want to jump on the euphoric crest of the British wave. I'm probably wrong anyway:001_smile:
  5. Leave the tree in the river. Large woody debris. We need more of it.
  6. Beautiful spalting. Kretch possibly.

It seems that all those who sing his praises and blame his indifferent showing on his machine are all English. Nothing wrong with that but factory offers aren't exactly pouring in! Maybe a Ducati for next season. Maybe he can make it work.

    And he's not a factory rider:001_smile:

To quote Herve Poncheral: Cal now has ultra-competitive machinery, as we have seen from what he managed to achieve in Qatar, Texas and Jerez - and not only in races but also in qualifying. He has had the best lap time on several occasions, in comparison with the Yamaha riders. In MotoGP engines are sealed and closed, so you cannot tell exactly what is inside them, but our engine specs are almost identical to the factory engines and we are now into the third development phase of the chassis since the first pre-season test at Sepang. We first tested the chassis in early February. That was followed by an update in late February (for the second Sepang test) and then another one at the post-race test in Jerez last week. I do not think one can say - and, furthermore, I do not think Cal can say - that we don’t have active support and competitive machinery.

Undoubtedly Marquez is an exciting and talented rider and he fully deserved his win. Well done to Bradl too. I know no one agrees with me here but I still don't think Crutchlow has got what it takes to consistently be in the top league. I really don't think he's our great white hope.
  11. Firebricks. Engineering will crack and crumble and are a lot harder to cut to fit.
  12. It doesn't really matter. There are many thousands who own a saw for occasional use for cutting firewood or the odd tree. I own many tools for my own occasional use. I haven't got 'tickets' for circular saws or whatever. I'm probably as likely to hurt myself with them as an amateur chainsaw user is with a saw.
  13. Foreign butterfly. Prob one someone's hatched.
  14. It was heaven then 'cos I was young and foolish:001_smile: Could have lasted forever. Now I'm grumpy in the heat.
  15. Used to have a reel of BT cable for situations like this. Unwind the splice, join in the extension and the customer keeps the phone on for the day. Or just disconnect and reconnect later.

    Gamefair.

Anyone going? I'm going on Sat but not even sure I'm looking forward to it in this heat. Dog's staying at home this time.
  17. This weather's a mere blip. Those of us old enough to remember 1976 will recall it didn't rain between May and September. Absolutely no respite for four months.
  18. Sycamore we felled three weeks ago is now taking some splitting.
  19. Very nice until a fan breaks up and fires the bits at you.
  20. Used a Blecovator behind a small Kubota and it did a cracking job.
  21. The hoses will look fine. They collapse inside.
