  1. I shall take some and get back with them. Thanks.
  2. Thanks for that info:thumbup:
  3. I have a Bramley apple in the garden which isn't on a dwarfing rootstock so it's a vigorous old b. My neighbour tells me it was planted 46 years ago when he moved in. It has been pollarded hard in the past and is forming some nice knobbly bits with cavities. I like the cavities for the blue tits etc and because it was getting big I repollarded it three years ago. The question is: when will it blossoms again? The regrowth has now reached six feet and I would have expected some flowers by now. Any ideas?
  4. I use a 20D body. Bulletproof semi-pro body and can be picked up at the right price leaving money for lenses.
  5. That is the bike Toseland rode at the age of 17.
  6. Pyrus. Not planted nearly enough.

    My arb dog

Beautiful dog. She may be gone but she'll always be with you.
  8. Horse flies are sight hunters. They find their prey by looking for movement and high contrast to the surrounding area.....so I'm told. Full camo gear should work:001_smile:
  9. No need to strap a Husky saw on the back of a Husky dirt bike. They're not even related nowadays:001_smile:
  10. Stunning....who is she:001_smile: Sorry. Superb shot.
  11. Clegs, gadflies and horseflies. All the same thing. As a kid I used to have swellings like swan's eggs after being bitten. Not as bad now but still pretty bad.
  12. Think that's a later series Gipsy with leaf springs.
  13. My bikes are not quite up to these:001_smile: Phil Read's MV 500/4; sounds like nothing you've heard before: Manx Norton, Yam TZ750 from the time before silencers were put on expansion chambers. Made your ears bleed from the crackle:001_smile: and finally the bike I couldn't afford at the time; Kwacker Z900.
  14. Ne'er cast a clout 'til may is out. In the excitement to get the veg garden going these April and May frosts catch out the tender plants. A lot of tender plants should be seen twice in May. You can't outwit the seasons:001_smile:
  15. Teak from West Africa! How many hundreds of tons of oil will be burnt to transport that?
  16. You should see your beans twice in May. Once when you plant them and then when they come up.
  17. Can't see what your place is like but I like to look here Smallholdings - Smallholdings for Sale, Smallholdings for Rent, Smallholdings Wanted, Smallholding Swap.
  18. Noticed it on some semi-mature roadside beech a few days ago. One in particular was at least two weeks ahead. I find it's most noticeable in hawthorn. Native stock hedges dating from the early enclosures always seems fairly consistent whereas later hedges seem inconsistent with a variation in flushing times. I remember discussing this with my old college lecturer and his theory was that the later hedges included a lot of stock of Irish provenance which he thought flushed earlier and was more variable.
  19. Had similar a while back and the dog saved everything. He had steak and a bone.
  20. Always used a bit of stick or whatever's lying around. Just push it into the kerf and carry on.

    Moto GP

Can't get it on my TV. Only the normal freeview channels. Maybe I need some sort of extra box.

    Moto GP

If it went to Eurosport I and quite a few others wouldn't be able to see it. Damned if I'm going to pay for Sky.
