    Tree

da Vinci....what a man! What is that drawing explaining?
  2. Didn't realise that initial establishment was so slow. It's appearing in our area but very localised. Is this down to micro climates?

    Tree

Just came across this. Riven from a twig.
  4. Started snowing late Thurs night and it's still snowing.
  5. You need those gas burners that shoot out of the side of the car.
  6. Leafmould is the way to go. If Britain had a total tree cover then liming would be unnecessary. Leafmould contains a high proportion of Mg and less of other trace elements. As a top dressing it will raise the pH, aerate, condition, feed microbes and worms and the grass will thrive. It's cheap, easily available and peat free.
  7. According to Ibanez's website it's cordia wood.
  8. I know those trucks. The lads that used them didn't rate them and they've spent some time off the road. Pretty sure they had a few problems.
  9. Tell them to get a life. **** happens:001_smile:
  10. Thank you. It came at an impressionable age and I secretly withdrew into my own world but hid the fact well if that makes sense:001_smile: Proud of my two as most are of their offspring.
  11. I had one sister who died at 15. I was 17. I also have two half brothers and two half sisters who are all much older than me. Never lived with them. I really only have contact with one half sister who is the closest in age by 15 years. Got two of my own. Lad 20 and daughter 18.
  12. It appears he's attached to the section being removed! Why? Has he also faced and back cut rather than a small step cut the crane operator could wiggle off.
  13. Some good shots there. That part of Wales has some amazing trees.
  14. You need to check for a current at the connecting block between the switch and the clutch. Disconnect the block, connect a meter and, with the engine running, flick the switch. Pretty sure the supply isn't fused. Also check continuity of all wiring and make sure there's a current to one side of the switch. You can check the clutch is activating by running a live feed to it. It should engage. If all fails then clutch has probably failed. Had two on ours but one was down to bearing failure and the other to electronic failure.
  15. Laid a hedge there.
  16. Whereabouts are you?
  17. Sounds a good idea. I'd be happy to come down if that's ok and it goes ahead.
  18. Penkridge
  19. I'm in Staffordshire.
  20. You'd be welcome to spend a day up here next back end. Could show you Midland, Staffs and Derby. Possibly too far for you and the style may be misplaced:001_smile:
  21. Well there is that:001_smile: Always tried to get a new pup so their training started in March. Ah those long summer evenings pulling hair out.
  22. The same number of spaniels as me. It's heartwrenching but a new puppy brings a huge amount of joy and companionship.
  23. Not the best situation. Did them like that years ago. Bit like pulling out straws until you hit the one:001_smile: For that tree I probably would climb and nip the crown back but not to save a fence.
  24. I despair. I probably have a very naive view of things and wish the world a simpler place. I despair for people that cannot see what is around them or even care. I despair that many chase money for materialistic goods with no care of the consequences and those that wring out everything until nothing more is forthcoming. I just despair:001_smile: Sorry a bit of a rant and off topic. I'm not sure what can be done, On a personal level I try and buy locally from sources I hope I can trust. I no longer buy from the big supermarkets. I don't buy processed meat products. A little fish in a big sea! I'm sure GM is a ticking bomb as is world monoculture. Not a bit of scientific basis to back up my feelings but I'm protesting in my very small way.
  25. I know what you mean. I used to do the carp thing. Own syndicate lake, Cassien, Salagou, Chantecoq, River Saone etc. Last time out with the carp and cat gear was 2003 but I can't see myself selling it. Just maybe one day the urge will be too great. All my fishing now is done with what I can carry in my pocket.
